Back sleeping

Do any of you sleep on your back with your PAP device? I’m sure you might need higher pressure, but my nose is definitely less congested when I lay on my back. I’ve been avoiding it because my jaw drops when I fall asleep, but I want to try a cervical collar to see if that helps.

Re: EPAP Pressure

EPR lowers the pressure when you exhale. When the pressure is lower, your airway is more apt to collapse. And keep you from inhaling, even before IPAP is applied. Keep in mind that both inhale pressure and exhale pressure are there to keep your airway from collapsing. The don't "blow open" obstruct...

ASV & RERAs

Is an ASV effective at treating RERAs? Or would a VAuto be better for that?

EPAP Pressure

What are some signs that EPAP pressure needs to be higher? I don’t understand how EPAP helps to prevent obstructions to your airway. Isn’t that what IPAP does? And EPAP is just the pressure resistance as you’re exhaling? Is EPAP only about comfort as you’re exhaling? Is there a benefit in raising th...

Re: AirCurve 10 S vs VAuto

yes. Depending on what the machine senses that it needs it can auto adjust as needed within the parameters set. Example....My OSA is much worse in REM stage sleep and I have been known to need 6 to 8 cm more pressure during REM to keep the airway open. REM may be about 20% of the entire nights slee...

Re: AirCurve 10 S vs VAuto

When you say “auto adjusting,” does that mean that instead of just having a fixed IPAP, it will analyze your breathing and deliver the pressure that’s needed at the time (within the range you selected)? So basically you can set a higher pressure support because it won’t be delivering the highest pre...

AirCurve 10 S vs VAuto

What benefits does the VAuto have over the 10 S?

Re: UARS? Need help

Thanks zonker. I know everyone can see my posts, but I wasn’t getting any info based on my Oscar data. I can zoom if that’ll help. I read the rules of the group and it said not to post a zoomed-in view. I was just hoping I could get some feedback on the Oscar data to see what I’m doing wrong and wha...

Re: UARS? Need help

I’ve looked for doctors in my area that do sleep studies with PES devices. There aren’t any. I’m not “convinced” that I have UARS, but I did have a sleep study after jaw surgery that showed no obstructive apneas. I went to a different sleep doctor and showed him all of my sleep studies and his opini...

UARS? Need help

Hi, I hope I'm posting this correctly this time. I tried reading through the directions about posting a screenshot but it's a little confusing. I'm using imgur, but I don't know if that's required. Anyway, I haven't had a decent night of sleep in years. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2019 (AHI ...

Soft Cervical Collar

For those that use one, what position do you sleep in? Is it ok to sleep on your back?

What does a perfect night of sleep look like on Oscar?

Can I see screenshots of what a perfect (or close to it) night of sleep looks like on Oscar? I’m sure Flow Limitations and leaks should be almost nonexistent, but what does a perfect Flow Rate and Resp Rate look like? Tidal Volume? Do you care about looking at things like Minute Vent, Insp Time, and...

Re: UARS Help - Nothing works!

I wasn’t being snarky, just curious. But that makes sense. I guess I need to find a doctor that does PES sleep studies. The ones I’ve seen here are pretty dismissive of UARS. And I had a pretty hard time uploading pictures at all lol. At first they were too big, so I shrunk them down. I tried search...
