Re: New driver needs help
I just turned the machine on and it won't pressurize at all! All the air is leaking from the elbow. I don't see anything obviously cracked or broken. I am supposed to start my new job in 8 hours but it is contingent on me using the machine and if I can't fix it I won't be in compliance. Is there any...

Re: New driver needs help
She gave me the full face mask because I'm a mouth-breather Many people--perhaps most--are mouth breathers with untreated apnea, because of air hunger. Once the apnea is under control, most people are no longer obligate mouth breathers. Is your mouth really dry when you wake up? If not, you probabl...

Re: New driver needs help
The mask shouldn't be pinching the nose closed. It's either too tight or wrong size or both. Explore other masks that don't come in contact with the nasal bridge area. How come you have the full face mask? While there are a few full face masks that don't come in contact with the nasal bridge area.....

Re: New driver needs help
Are you experiencing any nasal congestion at all that could possibly make the machine think you are snoring? I don't have any congestion but the mask is pinching my nose closed. Whatever the issue that caused the machine to max out didn't happen last night. I feel well-rested enough. It's hard to g...

Re: New driver needs help
it ramped up to 15 and stayed there. Any idea why that might have happened? Easy question....your snores drove the pressure up. Snores are an early warning sign that the airway is trying to collapse so the auto adjusting algorithm will increase the pressure in an effort to prevent further collapse....

Re: New driver needs help

Here's my data for last night. For some reason around 8am it ramped up to 15 and stayed there. Any idea why that might have happened?

Re: New driver needs help
Yeah I hope to come off the machine in time but right now I'm kinda digging the fighter pilot look with the mask and all.loggerhead12 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 1:22 pm
Nice! Driving down the BMI will, in all likelihood, reduce the pressures necessary for your CPAP therapy as well.

Re: New driver needs help
Are you a glider pilot? I'm working on it. I've been flying contests on Condor since 2018 and finally last year I decided it's time to start losing the weight so I can do it for real. I was 345 lbs at the time. I'm down to 270. The max pilot weight seems to be 110kg. It's my goal to get there by Ju...

Re: New driver needs help
I'm feeling much better today. I forgot to reinsert my SD card so I'll have to wait until tomorrow for detailed data but I fell asleep fairly easily and got 7 hours. I only woke up once. My reported AHI was 0.0. Leak rate is down to 20 which is much better but still some room for improvement there. ...

Re: New driver needs help
Try the minimum of 10 but turn on EPR and set it to 3. Change back to auto mode instead of fixed cpap mode set to 10. In auto mode again...set the max to 15. So minimum of 10, max of 15 and EPR to 3 full time. See how you do. OK. I dialed it in. I'll try to run it this afternoon if I can get a nap ...

Re: New driver needs help
I spent most of the day waiting on a return call from my employer's sleep person (I have no idea what her credentials are). I have very little time to get acclimated to the machine before jumping behind the wheel of an 80,000lb killing machine so I spent the entire day reading and watching youtube v...

New driver needs help
Hi All, I just started a new job as a truck driver. I've never had trouble sleeping but my BMI is 44 so the doc that gave me my DOT physical recommended a sleep study. I met with a woman from the company for 5 minutes. She gave me a home sleep test and had me meet her the next day to evaluate the re...
