Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

Pugsy: Very insightful, thanks. I can only share what I was experiencing at the time. So when I had this higher 10 and constant pressure at first it was overwhelming and I tried to remain calm and get used to it and did, then my breathing relaxed and I thought maybe I could sleep the pressure seemed...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

I I did a 46 minute night with constant 10pressure. At first I tolerated it and then got ok with it but I couldn’t fall asleep and every time I felt like I might fall asleep it seemed the pressure wasn’t enough. I realize that makes no sense but it’s exactly how I felt when I removed it. My numbers ...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

Haven’t looked into Oscar yet, I’m not the best technologist so for the near term I’m relying on the Dr software analysis but as of this writing it just appears to me as multiple guesswork- wish I wasn’t so skeptical but I’m fairly analytical and expect results and I do t line people telling me well...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

We’ll, I tried to do the Physician ordered constant pressure of 10 last night and couldn’t. That’s far worse than starting at 7. The reason he adjusted to try this is because I had a horrible night the last night I used cpap at 7-12 range after almost 10 days of relative success getting me to 7-8 ho...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

Latest update Sleep Dr wants me to try a constant pressure of 10., my old pressure was 7-12, but the last night of usage I had a bad stuffy nasal night and only made it 54 minutes with 40+ events and disconnected. I have no idea if this constant thing will work or if I can adjust to 10 or not but he...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

Ozij Thanks SO much for taking the time to give me your thoughts. Nope, NOBODY including my sleep Dr or respiratory therapist has shared squat about my results, all I got was you have mild case of sleep apnea and had 7 interruptions per hour. I think these people think I’m (we’re) too stupid to unde...

Sleeping in a recliner?

Does anyone sleep in a recliner. Seems like common wisdom for us difficult breathers at night is a wedge pillow or raising the bed etc and fir some, allegedly this does enough to open the airways some. Has anyone on here resorted to a recliner and does it help? Concerns? I’m just looking for options...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

So I didn’t use cpap last night and slept better than I have in two weeks on cpap so honestly I’m debating just stopping period. My ahi was worse using cpap than my sleep test which was only 7. My cpap ahi was 11.6 I think. I realize many of you will tell me it could take up to 6 months but I’m not ...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

No laptop but desktop and probably would need to buy card reader, any ideas on where, brand, etc? And is Oscar fee? Yes ramp is off and min pressure is 7, max 12. For several nights after raising the minimum from 4 to eventually 7 I was comfortable but for some reason I had harder time breathing fro...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

I was awake the entire time last night for 54 minutes and some reading indicated that can be recorded as central? Don’t know but I couldn’t get comfortable at all so maybe that whole time was central??

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

Been doing this two weeks and making progress w time on cpap but last night was the worst. I only made it 54 minutes and had 41.1 ahi, my total for cpap usage now is ahi: 11.2, total ai: 10.6 and central ai is 10.3. I had sleep study with no central and average interruptions were 7. My starting, non...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

Thanks for all the help. Not sure what Oscar is but I have no modem but only the card the Dr can read. I’m not sure what additional details I can get on ahi etc off machine but open to learning. Actually I’m beginning to wonder if these indexes will go down because my nasal situation contributes to ...

Re: Newbie on how long it takes to get rid fatigue and claustrophobic feeling from full face mask

I’m 72 and the ENT doc said my septum was so bad his normal 1 1/2 hour operation would take 5 hours to fix right, doesn’t sound great to me to endure all that anesthesia at my age AND run the risk it still doesn’t help the apnea. I’m discovering from my sleep study that my other (non AHI) indexes we...
