Re: Smart watches and sleep apnea ?
Another thing that crazy about these watches...... Last night I was asleep (as far as I was "aware" I was unconscious)...for 6 hours and 22 minutes, But my watch tells me that I was AWAKE for a total of 50 minutes in 22 episodes. Since we know that "awake time" is not reliable for apnea event detect...

Re: OT:::::Medicare Advantage plans "are taking over Medicare and they are taking advantage of elderly patients,"
Nearly all the doctors, hospitals, and dentists in my area accept my MA plan. No referral is required. Gym benefit, vision, dental and $125/quarter for OTC. Even toothpaste is covered! That’s fine for you and in your zip code, some of us are not as fortunate. Indeed, my brother (Anthem Advantage in...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
Ultimately what I'd like to know is, Can my doctor and or DME see my breath-to-breath flow rate data without access to my SD card? (which is the reason that I said above, that my doctor likely fibbing when he tells me that he can "see" this data. He and I were talking about the SHAPE of some specif...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
What the F, kind of a response is this to the one person who has gone out of there way to try to provide clarity to you. Perhaps you should ask ResMed. Ask ResMed. Whoa, Didn't anticipate a load of attitude! When I said I wasn't looking to argue, I was trying to signal that I still don't understand...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
On the other hand, if the doctor tells me that he is looking at plot of my pressure or flow readings for a particular night.... - he is probably fibbing. He might be looking at low resolution plots. I'm only looking for clarity, not an argument. Are you saying that there is a low-res version of the...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
High Resolution data, 25Hz or greater (like most wave forms), are *never* transmitted from the device to ResMed. They can only be sent to the cloud, by bringing an SD Card to ResScan station, reading the card and then submitting to ResMed. Thanks, That is very useful to know. My SD card or it conte...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
Digging futher, here is what Resmed says (on their website) All Air series devices contain internal SIM cards that transmit data automatically into AirView (device must be powered on, not in "Airplane mode", and in a cellular coverage area). There is no effort required by the patient, as the device ...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
I suppose that it really doesn't make that much difference (timing of uploading to some Airview server), I've been lead to believe that each sleep session is tagged with the date and time, so that it's reasonable that the server assembling the data for a "day" might recognize that a divided sleep ni...

Re: AIRVIEW communications
But it wouldn’t make much sense to upload prior to the “end of Resmed’s day”.

Re: AIRVIEW communications
I been told that Resmed’s day begins and ands at noon, so I’d think that the data is uploaded after that time. But how/who the upload is initiated, I’ve no info.

Re: WatchPat sleep study Question
As I mentioned previously I am a cpap user, and so she happened to go with me on my last annual visit. Even though I was the patient, the wife mentioned to MY pulmonologist that she was tired and not as energetic as she was 20 years ago (in her 50s , working staying very active). The pulmonolgist s...

Re: WatchPat sleep study Question
Why was your wife tested? Do you have a concern over her respiratory effort? The WatchPat will record blood oxygen levels, so if she's desaturating that will show up, even if the AHI is low. As I mentioned previously I am a cpap user, and so she happened to go with me on my last annual visit. Even ...

Re: WatchPat sleep study Question
Still waiting to hear from the pulmonogist/sleep doctor that she (the dr.) has gotten any results. Somewhat surprised as I anticipate that the WatchPAT would have been scored by machine, then sent to the Dr. Anyways, still waiting to hear from the Dr to get an appointment to "receive" the results. A...

Re: WatchPat sleep study Question
Sure will, but the thing that AASM recommends seems to suggest...... 'keep testing till we get a positive test' !ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 7:12 pmMaybe you want to update this thread once the results are known.
That really bugs me.
Meanwhile any thoughts on the "tone" and "motion" questions?

Re: WatchPat sleep study Question
3. We recommend that if a single home sleep apnea test is negative, inconclusive, or technically inadequate, polysomnography be performed for the diagnosis of OSA. (STRONG) https://aasm.org/aasm-releases-position-statement-home-sleep-apnea-testing/ I presume that the recommendation cited is couched...
