Re: data transmit fee
There are no fees charged to the patient (cpap user) for any data transmission to either MyAir (which the patient has access to) or AirView (which is the DME/doctor website). ResMed takes care of any cellular bills. MyAir is free to the patient. Now AirView may have some fees involved but if there ...

Re: data transmit fee
Yes, but I was informed the data was not transmitted until I go back USA. Actually, it seems the data was transmitted even outside USA and I am worried if I would receive extra bill.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 10:13 pmThe Internet is all over the world.

Re: data transmit fee
[/quote] Your questions are not silly at all. My answers below are based on your machine using cellular and not the newer card-to-cloud. 1. Resmed devices use M2M data transmission 2. If the data shows up in MyAir it made it 3. Data transmission fees are covered by Resmed 4. We’ll need one of the ex...

data transmit fee
I am sorry these would be very stupid questions for many people here. I am using Airsense 11 and I am currently in JPN. 1. How does App my air get the data? CPAP device --- App my air or CPAP device -- Cloud --- App my air 2. How to check the data transmit happened or not? 3. Who is paying the data ...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
My question was for US customs, though. Here is more info for JPN. (I talked with JPN health department which issues the permission.) - There is no register system. We need to get the permission for every entry. - If no permission, CPAP will be kept at the customs. (Of course, it means if they find ...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
I know it's anecdotal and I'm a big ugly American, but nobody said anything about my CPAP in the very obvious Resmed bag when I went through customs at Narita in 2021. To be honest, I never thought to check or ask. My bad. Me neither, I never thought anything before. The customs form which I filled...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
My suggestion is follow the requirements that the Japan gov't officials give you and dot all you i's and cross all your t's. While I haven't ever been to Japan I have sent a cpap machine to someone who lived there and he had to jump a LOT of hurdles to get customs to release the machine to him. Man...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
just called Narita Customs. ... He said because of special medical device, the permission is required. I do not know for next time because I usually do business trip with short notice. Since you are going to fill out the form, here is what I would do. Take the form with me. Don't volunteer it to Ja...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
Have a nice trip -- and check to see if you can have your Japanese permission given for the specific serial number of your machine, so you can have as an ongoing, instead instead of a onetime document. Oh, that is a good idea. I am happy to do such paper work to register my CPAP. I will ask them! I...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
I talked with JPN custom directly. Then, they said I need to talk with JPN gov health department. Both of them react, "oh, CPAP." So, they know what I am talking about. According to them, if I bring the medical device prescribed by Dr, I have to get the permission in advance. You can see Q&A in app...

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
FWIW, my family went to Japan in 2017 from the US. My wife carried her CPAP as she usually did when traveling with me. No questions were asked upon entering Japan (at Narita airport, Tokyo) - nor when departing Japan and re-entering the US. We didn't do anything special concerning customs or gettin...

Yes, it might be correct way. But if I ask, I may have to fill in something in advance like JPN gov. says.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 4:33 pmIf you are still worried, contact the US State Department.

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance
I have a trip plan to go to Japan with CPAP. JPN gov says I have to get the permission to bring the prescribed medical device in advance even I use it personally and will bring back to US after vacation. I thought dr. letter would be enough, but actually not. Anyway, I am now preparing application ...
