Re: Brand New to CPAP and STRUGGLING
I hit a new high last night with my therapy. I have been using a pillow mask for the past three nights and tolerating it a bit more. A good friend gave me an Ambien to try, and I actually slept 4.33 hours before my wife woke me up because the cpap air line was gurgling and water had somehow gotten i...

Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
I HATED my CPAP at first. Every night would find me throwing the mask at the wall. Wanting to break the mask, break the machine, kill me. I worked two jobs, attended class at night, had two young kids at that point, and I couldn't sleep with the damn thing. But my husband couldn't sleep with me any...

Ok. I'm new. Congrats on your love for your cpap and maybe I can get there someday.loggerhead12 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 5:22 pmObstructive Sleep Apnea is why most people use CPAP machines.

Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
I don't think another surgery is an option. Too much scarring from two previous surgeries.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:34 amIMO, it is time to either ask for a different mask or a referral to an ENT
for evaluation of your "traumatic nasal injury".
If a surgical correction is indicated---go for it!

Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
Thanks to everyone for your replies. I should say that this whole experience started because I told my VA doctor that I never sleep well so a sleep study was set up. It was determined I have moderate apnea if I sleep. My problem(s) are I feel I'm suffocating no matter what setting the machine is on....

Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
Tonight is my 15th night trying to sleep with the cpap and I have not slept at all with it on. The longest I've withstood it on my face is almost 3 hours and it has cost me so much sleep I now feel awful. If anyone hate's their machine as much as I do and feels the cpap is counterproductive to their...

Re: Brand New to CPAP and STRUGGLING
I have another question if I may.? I see in the manual sent with my new cpap machine that an Exhale Relief Pressure is an option but it is not on my cpap machine’s drop down menu. Is it possible to download this feature onto the machine? As other posters have suggested, you need to include your equ...

Re: Brand New to CPAP and STRUGGLING
I have a Resmed app to check my progress with the cpap and I am curious as to what constitutes an event. I had the mask on for 1.46 hours last night and registered 6.1 events. I don’t think I even dozed while I had it on. Your Resmed AirSense can't tell if you are awake or asleep. Since the device ...

Re: Brand New to CPAP and STRUGGLING
Thanks. I looked it up online and the events recorded are either apnea’s or hypopneas’s. Either is for 10 seconds or more. This still seems inaccurate when I don’t even think I slept whatsoever.
It is also strange that the cpap is there to correct these issues. I have a long way to go I suppose.
