Re: New to Oscar-recommendations needed

[/quote] I would like to optimize my treatment best I can because as of late I've been tired in the morning and mid-day. Are there any setting changes you can recommend? Like Pugsy, I don't see anything in the posted data that screams, "Fix this and you'll feel better." Do you take any medications? ...

Re: My next experiment....the AirSense 11 AutoSet

But I am a stubborn old witch and will probably try it a bit longer and just continue my whining. I don't really like the added weight from the hose cozies anyway. I did forget to add that I do have the hose in a hose cozy. I can't stand feeling the plastic hose next to me, so I always have t...

Re: My next experiment....the AirSense 11 AutoSet

Pain and disrupted sleep can make most of us testier. Yeah and my patience level is sub zero right now. If I were you, I think I'd be inclined to just go back to the AirCurve 10 and the set up that was making your nose happy with little or no rainout. And my own water-loving nose wishes yours well ...

Re: Dreamstation autobipap settings

I want to try using my bipap in this mode. Do you leave the settings at default? Will they then provide pressures as you need it within those parameters? Leaving the machine in Auto BiPAP mode with the settings wide open is usually not a good idea. To determine a decent set of Auto settings, it wou...

Re: behind-the-ear cpap mask

As someone who has a tremendous amount of claustrophobia, I've been told that a mask that loops behind the ears might be the best option. I have now tried 6 masks that have not worked. I'm desperate! Has anyone tried a mask that loops behind the ears? Pros and cons? Other recommendations welcome. T...

Re: Understanding OSCAR data, would love some help please

I watched a video on Sleep HQ which talked about the superiority of nasal masks if people can learn to not open their mouths at all while they sleep, and would like to try getting used to a nasal pillow mask. (I tried a few diff types of them a month ago when I first started on CPAP but I just need...

Re: Ramp test

I was wondering, I want to try a 45 minute ramp on a ResMed AirSense 11 using APAP with tight limits, 10.8 - 11.2 as a test. I would use my minimum pressure setting during this ramp time. EPR would be set to 1 full time. These settings seem to minimize leaks and my arousals. I use the P10 pillow an...

Re: Still Feeling Terrible After 3 Months

I am starting to see hypopneas and Reras (last night). ... Isn't is supposed to be an issue if you see OSAs? The hypopneas and reras are most likely occurring because you've lowered the max pressure a bit too far. On paper your data looks better with a max pressure of 10cm instead of 9cm. Having sa...

Re: Help required to reduce AHI and Aerophagia

I think I may be in your boat as my nose is always on the dry side. I’ll give it another night or 2 at 4, and then try 5 if need be. That’s the maximum humidity setting on the dreamstation. Also worth looking at on a Dreamstation: Is the humidifier set to "Fixed" mode or "Adaptive" mode? "Adaptive"...

Re: need help with a new BIPAP machine

You also should consider the Cycle setting. Setting Cycle to Low or Very Low will make the machine "cycle" from IPAP to EPAP later in the transition from inhalation to exhalation. That will effectively delay the drop in pressure by just a bit on every single breath, and that might be just enough fo...

Re: need help with a new BIPAP machine

I've been trying different T max and min, sometimes the IPAP gets cut short or the EPAP part does. Ti Min 2.0 and Max 2.7 seem to be a bit better for me. still needs experimenting. I wonder if I am cooked without the auto S mode Have you tried setting Ti_Min to be as small as possible and Ti_Max to...

Re: need help with a new BIPAP machine

I've been playing with the t min and max settings and yeah it makes the exhale part longer, but it's like, I have to nail it perfectly to breathe somewhat normally. with nasal obstruction that varies from night to night and even during different parts of the night, hard to see it being useful. sigh...

Re: these darn masks

For now I'm sticking with the P-10. Might try foregoing the lanoline or use it more sparingly and see if it keeps the whole medium pillow from disappearing up my nose. Sounds like you need to try a large pillow instead of a medium one. Only the very tips of the cones are supposed to enter the nostr...
