Re: can i get dr. to order resmed for me
i have one of the major insurers, nothing great, through work. my doctor said he is "ordering me" a unit. i told him to hold off. i wanted to first ask here for tips on how i will be able to get a resmed. The first critical thing to find out is who is the DME your doc wants to "order" the CPAP from...

Re: I have a couple of questions
hello i have couple of questions to ask the 1st question is how i delete my old profile from my oscar program When you click on the "Profile" tab of the main Oscar window, a list of the profiles will show up. There will also be a right side bar that looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/9ugjYVD.png ...

Re: Help to validate my understanding of the basics of CPAP
Thank you Robysue for this deep and clear clarification. Things are more subtle than I thought! I guess your clarification will be useful for many members of the forum. You're welcome! I still have a last question If I don't have any problems/inconveniences with expiration, why play with the EPR? W...

Re: Considering a through hike
The Questions: 1. Has anyone been able to reduce their AHI from the mid-high 20's and manage it to less than 5 when not on APAP? APAP prevents the events from happening while you are using the APAP. But APAP therapy does not cure OSA and allow one to sleep without an APAP. It's like wearing glasses...

Re: oxygen desaturation levels.
I wanted to ask about the CPAP machine it self. I have noticed that during position changes in bed, I tend to hold my breath. When I do so, I have come to notice that I can sense what can only be explained as small gentle pressure pulses in the mask. When I inhale this goes away, but I have also no...

Re: Hi, I'm new
That became my modus operandi several years ago. Although, I prefer to not let my tank get to "very gross".chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 4:08 pmI have not cleaned anything but the tank for years--even while in chemo.
And I'm still here.
I clean the tank when it gets gross--sometimes very gross.

Re: Help to validate my understanding of the basics of CPAP
I would like help in understanding the basics of CPAP What I think I understand: With a Resmed Airsense11 machine, the machine sends air into my airways according to a pressure that will evolve between Min and Max pressure in order to prevent or correct a closure (OA or H). Not quite correct. Your ...

Re: Will Flow Limitations caused by UARS Show Up in Oscar?
Thanks for the info. I'll read the link you provided soon. In my OSCAR data, based on the chart you shared, I could have some "possible" flow limitations. They don't quite look that exaggerated though. It won't let me attach screenshots. They're just PNGs under 100kb... I'll try again later. The bo...

Re: Please Help Me Interpret my Stats
Is there anyone in this forum that we can simply send our raw data to that is a sleep analysis that can interpret our readings without us having to manipulate our"overview" or "daily view" in Oscar? There is now a site called SleepHQ (url https://home.sleephq.com/ ) that allows you to upload your d...

Re: S9 on plane and other alternatives
Hi everyone! Ok, so I’m going on an overseas red eye and want to sleep. I’m taking my old S9 without humidifier. I have original power supply. Plane has outlet for 120 volt appliances. Is the S9 ok to use on the plane? Also, for temporary situations like this, does anyone have any non-cpap alternat...

Re: Hi, I'm new
1. Cleaning the stuff is a PIA. I wash the pillows and attached tubing daily. That isnt awful but cleaning the grey tube is a bear. Is weekly really necessary? Cleaning it during the weekend would be ideal but I tend to lounge in bed reading/napping on the weekend and there isnt enough time for it ...

Re: Time to reduce EPR? Pressure?
I'm started to see more and centrals in my OSCAR data, and this concerns me because I've never experienced this many centrals before - not on CPAP or during sleep tests. I see that there's a link between high pressure and centrals and also EPR and centrals. As others have pointed out: If you are ta...

Re: Will Flow Limitations caused by UARS Show Up in Oscar?
I'm wondering because I'm trying to self titrate for UARS. I feel no better and see nothing in the OSCAR data to indicate flow limitations. 1: How long have you been trying to self-titrate for UARS? And exactly what machine are you using? And what pressure or pressure range are you using? 2: Why do...

Re: Will Flow Limitations caused by UARS Show Up in Oscar?
Wouldn't increased respiratory effort essentially increase pressure in your airway and keep the flow rate in your nostrils looking the same? I'm wondering because I'm trying to self titrate for UARS. I feel no better and see nothing in the OSCAR data to indicate flow limitations. What machine are y...

Re: Need help. A good start and then the fall ?
For the last month, it's been going wrong: bad sleep, mediocre Oscar scores (AIH 2 to 3), not so good feeling... And yet I did not change my parameters very much. I check off all the good sleep practices. Only new fact: a painful Covid 2.5 weeks ago. Face mask, no leakage with a band on the mouth. ...
