Re: Aerophagia and bievel machine
first, the question then i'll blither on about details. i've fought and defeated aerophagia on my apap by using a method that dogslobber dubbed the zonker protocol. i dialed my min pressure way down until i found the level at which no aerophagia appeared. i then slowly over the course of weeks rais...

Re: "Odd" Waveform?
How significant are the occasional snores scored during the "odd wave flow" breathing? If you sleep through them, I'd say they're academic. If they create tons of arousals, get the stent or the scalpel. And I'll hazard a wild guess: Is it possible this "odd wave flow" might be tied to some very, ve...

Re: "Odd" Waveform?
Emphysema? I don't have emphysema. Or asthma. Or any breathing disorder that I know of beyond OSA and seasonal allergies. Could the answer be seasonal allergies? Cause they've kicked in big time this spring and I'm dealing with a lot of congestion and I'm not taking zyrtec or doing the saline sinus...

Re: "Odd" Waveform?
Asking for more clarification from Rubicon (if he's willing to give it) based on a bunch of flow rate data from my own data from almost a month ago, which is my most recent download. This first shot shows what I think is my initial transition to sleep at the beginning of the night for March 26: http...

Rubicon posted this: On TOF (not the TOOF) a poster submitted this waveform: https://i.imgur.com/jNfxWKr.jpg and asked Does anybody know what may have caused this? And lazarus brought up a SleepRes V-com device: Waaay above my pay grade. Sorry. But my first thought was: 'With stuff like SleepRes V-C...

Re: can i get dr. to order resmed for me
i have one of the major insurers, nothing great, through work. my doctor said he is "ordering me" a unit. i told him to hold off. i wanted to first ask here for tips on how i will be able to get a resmed. The first critical thing to find out is who is the DME your doc wants to "order" the CPAP from...

Re: Help to validate my understanding of the basics of CPAP
Thank you Robysue for this deep and clear clarification. Things are more subtle than I thought! I guess your clarification will be useful for many members of the forum. You're welcome! I still have a last question If I don't have any problems/inconveniences with expiration, why play with the EPR? W...

Re: Considering a through hike
The Questions: 1. Has anyone been able to reduce their AHI from the mid-high 20's and manage it to less than 5 when not on APAP? APAP prevents the events from happening while you are using the APAP. But APAP therapy does not cure OSA and allow one to sleep without an APAP. It's like wearing glasses...

Re: oxygen desaturation levels.
I wanted to ask about the CPAP machine it self. I have noticed that during position changes in bed, I tend to hold my breath. When I do so, I have come to notice that I can sense what can only be explained as small gentle pressure pulses in the mask. When I inhale this goes away, but I have also no...

Re: Hi, I'm new
That became my modus operandi several years ago. Although, I prefer to not let my tank get to "very gross".chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 4:08 pmI have not cleaned anything but the tank for years--even while in chemo.
And I'm still here.
I clean the tank when it gets gross--sometimes very gross.

Re: Help to validate my understanding of the basics of CPAP
I would like help in understanding the basics of CPAP What I think I understand: With a Resmed Airsense11 machine, the machine sends air into my airways according to a pressure that will evolve between Min and Max pressure in order to prevent or correct a closure (OA or H). Not quite correct. Your ...

Re: Will Flow Limitations caused by UARS Show Up in Oscar?
Thanks for the info. I'll read the link you provided soon. In my OSCAR data, based on the chart you shared, I could have some "possible" flow limitations. They don't quite look that exaggerated though. It won't let me attach screenshots. They're just PNGs under 100kb... I'll try again later. The bo...
