Re: Help me find out what went RIGHT on this random extremely good night
About flow limitations: they mess with the sleep of some people but not others. Your FL graphs were busy on both your good night and your bad night, so we don't have a specific reason to suspect they bother you. The other thing is that if your flow is restricted by conditions inside your nose, high...

Re: Help me find out what went RIGHT on this random extremely good night
Your 95% flow limit is high. Looks like you already have EPR on max. I'd recommend you keep increasing your minimum pressure by 1 each night until you get it below 0.05. I got mine to 0 at CPAP 10 with EPR 3. Your asthma, rhinitis, deviated septum, etc are going to contribute to higher flow limits, ...

Re: Data Analysis & High Respiratory Rate
My life just got a little more interesting. I have been diagnosed with Celiac disease, and I have been treating it with gluten free diet for the last 2 weeks, with a bunch of mistakes along the way. This has nothing to do with my sleep apnea, right? Well, if you go back and compare my charts from Ma...

Re: OSCAR results - what should I try?
You might want to slowly increase your minimum pressure by 0.2 every night or two until your AHI goes down. Hopefully you would find a pressure where your obstructive apneas happen less frequently. I wouldn't rush it if I were you because your numbers already look really good. If you start to jump u...

Re: Still Tired after 1 year + Analysis
You've got to deal with those leaks, my friend. Anything could be hiding in there. I had very similar looking leaks with nasal pillows. Turns out I have an upper airway obstruction or floppy soft palate that restricts nasal flow and can force my mouth open. And it happens to me roughly every 90 minu...

Re: Data Analysis & High Respiratory Rate
I want to do some experimentation to see if I can optimize my CPAP therapy while waiting for my ENT appointment. After talking with Rubicon some I tried taping my nose shut last night to see if it helped the high respiratory rate. I also lowered my pressure range under the assumption that it was a d...

Re: Bleep in the News
Those numbers have to be total estimated cases, not diagnosed. The US has closer to 8 million diagnosed. I have no idea how many are diagnosed worldwide but it's not 1 billion people on a CPAP.that there 30 million sleep apnea patients in the US, 1 billion worldwide!

Re: Data Analysis & High Respiratory Rate
It sounds like he was talking about some FL tho, not the high RR. Thank you! They were talking about flow limits. It's hit or miss finding someone who actually looks at the whole picture online, you're the first person to actually look at my charts and see the RR I'm asking about. IIWY rather than ...

Re: Data Analysis & High Respiratory Rate
Someone on another forum suggested I try EPR, so I did that last night. Here are the results from that for what they're worth. I woke up more frequently than I have been without EPR. I woke from a dream at 5:15 AM, it was a bad one in the end. Would that likely be associated with the breathing issue...

Data Analysis & High Respiratory Rate
Would anyone be able to take a few minutes to look over my data and provide any suggestions for optimization? For some information on my case, I was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with severe SA in lab. My AHI was 33, and my REM AHI was 60. I have a total of 16 minutes of REM sleep during the study...

Re: New User, Looking for Input / Direction
I was thinking it needed to be raised because the pressure level was so high above my minimum all night long. That said your analysis that I was awake for most of it makes lots of sense to me. I had very poor sleep last night, which I attribute to the newness of this mask. I'm not looking for an AHI...

i'm a full bearded fella myself and this is how i cope with mouth breathing-viewtopic.php?p=1089718&f=1&t=112758&p= ... s#p1086296 Thank you for this! I've got some on order now, so I can at least figure out of it's the mouth leak, or mask leak. I'd love to you use the n30i because it's so comforta...

Re: New User, Looking for Input / Direction
I do understand that having facial hair also makes for it to be more difficult to tape the mouth shut. The tape just doesn't like to stick to hair. Thank you, Pugsy! I have somewhere to focus my efforts to improve my treatment. My wife has been very supportive and helpful with my treatment so...

Re: New User, Looking for Input / Direction
Which numbers? Leaks numbers or something else? When we tape our mouths and the tape doesn't come loose and is still stuck in the morning and we still see leak numbers higher than we want then that only leaves mask movement as the culprit. We can have both mouth opening leaks and mask movement leak...

Re: New User, Looking for Input / Direction
Sorry about that, I fixed the broken links in my original comment. Thank you, I totally see what you mean now on the charts. I think they're 'small' mouth leaks, it must be waking me just a little because I only remember one or two a night at most. I tried taping with some 'surgical tape' but did no...
