Re: Has it taken anyone a long time to start feeling better?

Robysue1, thanks for sharing your experience. Whatever problems with leaks, aerophagia, sensory overload, etc. the person is dealing with have to be addressed before xPAP can possibly work I fall asleep fairly easy most nights and stay asleep except for the few moments it take me to roll over and ch...

Re: Has it taken anyone a long time to start feeling better?

Pressure setting is 14 maximum I think. I use a SD card in my cpap and have no way to get the info here with my laptop. Sleep doctor said everything looks great, I take the card in every 3 months for them to read. Before I started I read through the entire 'success stories' thread here and I guess I...

Has it taken anyone a long time to start feeling better?

I've been on cpap over 6 months now... took to it quickly. I usually sleep 8+ hours with it nightly. AHI below 1 most of the time, decent mask fit. The only real positives I've had so far is not getting up during the night to urinate and my hematocrit has lowered (has been over range). I was so opti...

Re: severe dry mouth, sinus irritation, nightmares

Xlimelts work wonderfully for super dry mouth. They are little tablets that stick onto your gums and slowly dissolve.. I use one a night, you might need two. Amazon sells them.

Re: Hello, thank you and a couple questions

I sleep on my side 99% of the time. I've often slept with a cough drop in my mouth before starting cpap.. I do realize I could aspirate it. Usually I wake up with the remains of it stuck between my teeth and cheek. I've slept over 9 hours with the nasal mask on the past 2 nights.. no coughing or thr...

Re: Hello, thank you and a couple questions

I have seen rheumatologists, endocrinologists and neurologists and pulmonologists. IMO there should be a specialists for autoimmune issues as very few of us only have one. I'm sick and tired of being bounced around. Me too, me too. I also see a hematologist for the polycythemia, she's actually done...

Re: Hello, thank you and a couple questions

Mummmz, thanks for the info on the oximeter. I'd like to give blood, but with the granuloma annulare (skin lesions) being on the inside of my elbows where they take blood I'm not sure they would even let me. I guess I should go to the next nearby blood drive and find out.

Re: Hello, thank you and a couple questions

I have seen the other mouth tapes on Amazon. Will keep the Somnifix in mind. The last 2 nights I slept with the nasal mask and am having a much easier time keeping my mouth shut by doing the 'tongue on the roof of the mouth' so I haven't tried the tape again. The tech that fitted me with the full fa...

Re: Hello, thank you and a couple questions

Ozji I did not use chapstick.. the tape was really even too sticky to be comfortable on my facial skin. I will try sticking the tape on fabric a few times to decrease the stickiness. Thanks for the idea! Miss Emerita, I will look into a oximeter if I don't start feeling better in a few more weeks. Y...

Re: Hello, thank you and a couple questions

Julie, I did see a rheumatologist who did the 'points check' on me... he didn't think I had fibro. Some of the points are tender at times, but not when he checked. I think my primary has just given up on me. lol I think it would be more likely that I have chronic fatigue... but I don't think there's...

Hello, thank you and a couple questions

First thank you..especially for the 'success stories' thread which helped motivate me to give the cpap a try. 60+ year old female. overweight with Hashimotos, secondary adrenal insufficency and secondary polycythemia. I've been extremely tired for the past few years with headaches, muscle aches.. ha...
