Airsense11 Software update

On my cpap today (1/11/24) was a message to the effect that the software was just updated. Normally, manufacturer's update their software to provide additional functionality or correct bugs. Do any other members know what was updated or why? This machine has been in-service for about a year and a ha...

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

My mistake in typing pronouns, is it really important?
Three people had sleep studies, two were WatchPat home studies.

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

Now, I had mentioned earlier that my wife had a WatchPat sleep study done at the same lab about six months ago. Her report was 7 pages and included flow graphs and the detain of when every event took place. Actually, you said your brother's wife: In truth, I am asking this question on behalf of my ...

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

Yeah I'd look at the graphs, specifically the desats. They used the 4% rule, I think they're valid, but the mean nadir is only 92%. Is the 82% real or artifact? If there's only like 1 significant desat out of the clear blue sky I'd be thinking about throwing it out. Do you have any idea if the lab ...

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

This is a summary. The Watch Pat produces a much more detailed report, he should ask for the full report. It might be more clear from that. We called the sleep lab that gave the equipment and produced the report. They insisted that was the complete report. Now, I had mentioned earlier that my wife ...

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

@rubicon,
the care that has to taken in comparing AHI from the WatchPat and a AHI from your home machine is that the one infers/implies apneas while the other actually detects apneas and hypopneas ..... is that fair to say?

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

Thank you (and my brother I'm sure is grateful for your good wishes), however that doesn't answer the original question about "events". I hope he gets a full-data treatment machine so he can see that information during treatment and use it to optimize his therapy for the best sleep. I've told him to...

Re: Help understanding Sleep study

Although, from your other posts, you are already using PAP, it seems. In truth, I am asking this question on behalf of my brother, who didn't want to create his own login and thread, and asked me to ask those questions about his new sleep study. I can understand his confusion, as he has heard me ta...

Re: Help Interpreting Watchpat and General Advice

I've no intent to derail your thread, but did have a question that you or others might be able to provide a quick answer. I also had a Watchpat study done (while temporarily OFF therapy) and I noticed that your report had values for pAHI3%, but my report had only values for pAHI4%. What is the diffe...

Help understanding Sleep study

I just got a sleep study and have a few questions: 12-2022 Sleep study.jpg How many Obstructive events were observed? How many Hypopna events events were there? How many clear airway events were observed? What exactly is pAHI4% and PAHIc4% ? About oxygen desaturations, am I reading this correctly, t...

Re: Pulse Oximeters in CPap machines.

@Palerider Now I remember why I was warned about this forum. Offers some useful information if you can weed through the bullsh*t and aggression of bullies like PaleR* and his merry band of santimonious henchmen. At the time I had no idea who PaleR* was, but now it's clear. I've got no time for rando...

@Rubicon
Actually he is NOT saying that 27 (non-respiration triggered) arousals is "normal", he actually said that "If you are over 60 years old you MAY have as many as 27 arousal per hour" (emphasis added).

Re: Pulse Oximeters in CPap machines.

If you are over 60 years old you may have as many as 27 arousal per hour. What does that mean, "you may"? Cause "normally", "you won't". @ Rubicon, within the context of the full statement, I suspect the author is saying that while younger people normally have an average of 15 non-respiratory trigg...

Re: Cpap "flipping" over

I keep my Resmed 11 on the floor, rather than elevated on a nightstand. Does that make any difference (in performance)?

Anyways, I think I've solved the issue of the 11 flipping over by placing a 2X2 square of Velcro on the bottom of the resmed and on the floor.
Works very well thus far.
