Re: thinking about trying a mask liner, do they seal ok?

For me..... they do not. My leak rates are high. But I use the Philips Total Mask and the mask leaves red marks on my cheeks. But I love the comfort the liners provide. As far as leaks, they don't wake me up and my AHI stays low (around a .5), so my machine can compensate for the leaks. Sheriff Wow...

thinking about trying a mask liner, do they seal ok?

HI all, I'm thinking about ordering some mask liners because my face has been getting sweaty under the silicone seal and causing leaks and discomfort. Does anyone use these and if so do they work? It seems like it would be a problem with keeping a good seal since fabric, being porous, is not typical...

Re: nose "tickles" with F20 mask??

I forgot about that crazy NJ humidity. Hits you like a ton of bricks when you get off the plane. Sure makes it green and beautiful though. I used to live on the island of Okinawa, now a Japanese prefecture. Whenever we flew there, we'd take one step off the plane and as my mom used to say--it feels...

Which travel pillow did you use and modify?
It has no tag on it so I'm not sure, its memory foam type so it has a pretty stable form and is fairly tall, the cover is removable with a zipper making it easy to add or subtract foam as needed

nose "tickles" with F20 mask??

Yesterday I got a Resmed F20 over the nose full face mask. The fit for me is far better than the F30i I was trying to use, no nose holes to not line up, no problems not sealing around my floppy long nose etc...problem is the F20 makes my nose and other parts of my face under the mask tickle/itch lik...

Re: Full face over the nose mask with hose connect on the top of the head??

The only full face masks that I know of with the hose attaching at the top of the head are the ResMed F30i and the Respironics DreamWear FFM. I haven't seen any full face mask that actually covers the nose in the traditional way that attaches at the top of the head. Yeah, that's the conclusion I wa...

Full face over the nose mask with hose connect on the top of the head??

Does anyone know of full face over the nose mask that has the hose connect on the head like Dreamweaver and F30 but doesn't use nasal pillows? The head connection is much better for me as I roll over pretty often and it keeps me from snagging the hose with my arms but the nasal pillow type masks don...

Re: Mask Merry-Go-Round

I am wondering, what is the "guess" of the average number of different type masks cpap users try during their first year or two, before they find the "right one"? I got started 5 weeks ago with a Resmed N30i nasal, then tried the Dreamwear nasal cushion, then back to the N30i, and am now trying my ...

Re: Try a cervical collar/chin pillow...WOW

I must have a really long neck, a two inch looks like a shirt collar for me. As I think I mentioned, I so far have not had good results with the normal cervical collar "belt" type, they just aren't thick enough to keep my giant head from rolling forward, I also have a pretty significant chin so a w...

Re: Do I need to change my CPAP

Another thing that I have found really helps me sleep longer is a little weird but what I do is wear really dark sunglasses (preferably red or orange) starting about 3 hours before when I want to go to sleep, and don't take them off for anything. Believe or not it gives me a solid extra hour of bei...

Re: Try a cervical collar/chin pillow...WOW

I tried a 3 inch collar night before last and it did not work as well ( but it did work, AHI around 4), last night I again used my modified travel pillow which is about 4 inches, and again my AHI dropped down to under 2 with a sleep time of almost 7 hours. 7 hours without waking! That is the longes...

Re: Do I need to change my CPAP

Thank you for all the info  I have now two very hard things to try for improvement. I need to cut down or even stop my smoking and caffeine intake. :? I smoke on average 25 cigarettes per 24 hours and I drink coffee till around 7 PM. Not an easy task  OMG stop the caffeine! and for the ...
