Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

I've had an eventful past day or two. And I'm finally looking for some specific feedback on some questions! I went ahead and purchased the F30i mask (standard frame, wide cushion). When it arrived, I set it up and really liked that it was less bulky, and it seemed to be quite comfortable. However, w...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Wow I see the progression and it looks like you’re making progress. Hopefully you’re feeling better! Thank you!! I'd say I'm..... ?? I'm not sure! Cautiously optimistic? But scared of getting excited and then let down since I'm used to the ups and downs of long-term health issues. Still, I'm very g...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Hello all! I've been continuing using the CPAP nightly. I had one night where I forgot to insert the SD card. Thankfully, it was a night without any issues, and I at least got the basic data off there which showed a 0.81 AHI. A couple nights ago, I felt like I had a moderate amount of air leaking ou...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Thank you for all the info and tips! Nights 2 & 3 went just as well as the 1st. I think I've personally slept a little worse, but I have no idea of that's due to me wearing a mask for the first time, or if it's just my usual poor sleep quality. I also keep forgetting to bump the minimum up to 8 as s...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

It's a no-no because that would give your last hour or two of "sleep" putting you into the position of potentially having a bunch of untreated apnea events happen so it wouldn't be all that great of a quality of sleep and your body will remember that last hour of apnea filled sleep much more than i...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Here’s a link to my OSCAR data screenshot: https://ry-n.link/Sm1pke Not much to see; leak rate under control; flow limitations minor; cluster of clear airway events around 7:00 a.m. is probably awake breathing and nothing to worry about. If that were my chart, I would change the minimum pressure to...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

I’m going to call night one a rousing success! I had a very typical/normal night of sleep for me which isn’t always great, but I’m thankful that I was able to sleep most of the night without any major issues while using the new mask and machine. I should note that I’ve had insomnia issues for as lon...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

I finally nipped my overthinking in the bud and placed an order last week for some equipment as a starting point. It looks like it's set to arrive Monday! ResMed AirSense 11 Autoset ResMed AirTouch F20 full face mask with headgear ClimateLineAir 11 Heated Tube Is there anything I missed to get me st...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Two things I will point out. 1) Since you live in Las Vegas, which is a particularly dry place, you'll probably want to use the humidifier on a high setting. 2) Don't assume that you have to use a full face mask. For some people, the pressure is enough to allow you to breathe through the nose. That...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Thanks for all the info! Sounds like I have been on the right track at least. It sounds like the mask is the biggest thing to figure out as long as you get one of the recommended machines. I'm sure I'll stick with the Resmed 10 or 11 (and I'll make sure it's the Autoset version!). And I'm a big stat...

So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Hello everyone! I’m Ryan. I’m 43 and live in Las Vegas. I’m new to the world of sleep apnea and CPAP machines. I don’t even have any equipment or anything yet. But I have taken an at-home sleep study through Lofta. I had one done in more of a hospital setting maybe 10 years ago, but that one came ba...
