Legitimate question

Good morning friends and happy Saturday. I have a legit question this morning that I would like some help on. Would one of you please take a look at my oscar charts and tell me what happened on the second session? Were there no leaks? Last night, I started off with the F30 and apparently the leaks w...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Good to see you Brad. Wondering if you ever tried the P10 mask? Thanks as always for your kind, thoughtful reply. I started this whole journey off with the P10 and tried it again last Friday in an attempt to switch it up. I fall asleep great but woke up with my mouth open and air rushing out and wh...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Hello again- I am still here- it has just been a crazy week or so and I just haven't had time or energy to spend here. I have had to put off several things lately just to keep up at work battling the brain fog. Today is the first day I am feeling noticeably better since starting nighttime oxygen. I ...

Re: Brand New to CPAP and STRUGGLING

Welcome! You will find so much good help here. Tonight is night 71 for me and I am still learning to adjust. I have more bad nights than good. I was on a run for a few days where things were getting much better and now I am back to struggling with leaks, waking up multiple times a night and feeling ...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

I'm back- Woohoo! It was soo good to go on a road trip again. We have spent the last 42 years traveling all over North America and since 2020 the trips have been very restricted and limited. It was fantastic to get out and just have fun. Didn't have room in the car for the second oxygen concentrator...

Thursday

Tuesday night I switched from the Evora over to the N30 because of the leak issue I think was brought on by several things. Going to bed and having the mask fit and seal good then my face relaxing so much when I was in a deep sleep that the seal changes and also rolling around trying to get comforta...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Most of us who are pretty sure about so-called wake-sleep-junk and wake breathing are looking specifically at more ragged breathing with larger breaths that are during the times when you are likely to be in the process of falling asleep or waking up---i.e. the 10-15 minutes (or less) right after yo...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Well hmmm....the numbers look generally better except for the fact that you weren't actually sleeping Good morning. I am curious when you look at the charts where you see I was not actually sleeping? What day(s) or times specifically? I am not being a wise ass, I am asking because I am truly intere...

Re: Help with testing pressure at home

I hope some of the things I said may help you in figuring out what's going on. What you said has helped a lot and it is really appreciated. Thank you. I will try cpap.com and other suppliers to see if we can find better hoses. When we went in for my wife's initial setup and fitting just over two ye...

Re: Help with testing pressure at home

That's all very strange, unless you've got pets that are chewing on the hose, I can't imagine what's happening, I mean, my brother used the same hose for years without ever having a problem with it, or the hose developing any leaks. That is interesting. She gets her supplies from Apria and we suppl...

Re: Newb needs help. Exhaling issues

Are your numbers improving along with your sense of security? Your mental acuity and fatigue levels? I am hoping so. (You really do need to dish more. lol) I believe they are related. I am not worried about going to bed and waking up in total spaz mode anymore. I am back to being able to lay down a...

Re: Help with testing pressure at home

One easy way to check for leaks is to just plug up the end of the hose, if it's not leaking, you'll see the flow meter drop to zero, or near zero. Another way (and this gets a bit messy) is to fill a 2 liter bottle with water, stick the hose in, then invert it into a sink (or bucket) that's already...
