Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

Used the 3M micropore as well for a while but leaves horrible residue that's hard to get rid of.
And it does not seal as well on my shaven face.

Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

Thanks Gfox. I think that is about the same as the Hypafix tape I bought and HATED. It hurt like crazy (for me, the wimp) to remove. Interesting --- seeing that Hypafix tape now. It's definitely the same manufacturer but that product name does not appear on my tape. It is not horrible to remove in ...

Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

I have tried out various tapes and this here is HANDS-down the best I have tried (to fully seal your mouth) Well, it's not a very good tape if, you want to lower your humidity (best start out with none and then increase slowly again) since it can loosing up the glue and lead to mouth leaks. ... the...

Re: Complex apnea?

Thanks, Miss Emerita. Will try that line of argumentation if he balks at the treatment. I fear more that he argues the insurance might not pay for it and it can get very expensive quickly. I do indeed have technically a light case of amenia since my red cell count has been on the low side for years ...

Re: Complex apnea?

Great point, Lazarus. I actually tried that 2 years ago and stayed off caffeine for almost a full year (!). I was blown away how much more I was dreaming initially, and it felt actually quite good for a descent period afterwards. Initially, I felt that I may have solved something in my sleep puzzle…...

Re: Complex apnea?

Thanks, Steerpike58. That was my thinking too and the reason I started this thread. I do have mostly only central/clear airway events left in my CPAP machine data. They can be as low as ~2 events/h and up to ~7 events/h bringing the total AHI to something between 4-9 events/h for me. Most days I hav...

Re: Complex apnea?

Thank you both, Lazarus and Miss Emerita. I do indeed have somewhat irregular sleep hours and have this now on my to-do list for improving sleep as well. My bedtime hours vary roughly from 11pm to 1am with allowing for ~7h of sleep. Making this a bit more regular and allowing for more sleep should h...

Re: Complex apnea?

I have a bit of an update on my end. Since the pressure change suggestion came up in this forum, I have started to experiment with this again. First step here was changing the settings back to auto to see what the machine does come up with for me (with my now better set-up, being essentially leak fr...

Re: Wesper

They don't discuss too many details about their sensors. But airflow is indirectly measured using respiratory
effort signals as outlined in this FDA document:

Re: Wesper

Yes, expensive, if you continuously use it, but compared to individual sleep studies, cheap. I plan on using it for 1 or maybe 2 months, with the hope of figuring out a few things around my sleep issues. I see this as a continuous sleep study test at HST level. They are FDA-approved for HST level 3 ...

Wesper

Hi all – Has anybody used the Wesper service? I am curious on whether there is interest discussing the pros and cons of their service for longitudinal study of the efficacy of sleep therapy. I have just started using their service two days ago (monthly fee of $75) because I felt that the usual sleep...

Re: Complex apnea?

I don't think they gave me any options on the timing. But I suspect that they are all around 10pm Check-in time. I don't know what other sleep labs are doing --- this was my 3rd study by the way (1 at home, and 2 in lab). Lights out at 9pm would be a non-starter for me too :)

Re: Complex apnea?

Just as follow-up, here's the long-term (March to latest) time series from Oscar: + one can see that AHI has increased over the last couple of weeks + also, it's apparent that the majority of my residuals are flagged as centrals + my leak rates are way down recently (but were not necessarily that te...
