Re: Heated Tube: Transition from Auto to Manual Settings

Update: 2nd night using the humidity 3 and 76F temp setting. Same results (and that's a good thing).

Will keep you updated, but so far I am optimistic!

Re: Heated Tube: Transition from Auto to Manual Settings

Another update: My updated changes to Humidity 3 and Temperature 76F seemed to improve things last night. No moisture in the tube (at least no meaningful moisture) and a bit of condensation inside my mask. I think I am going to keep it on this setting another evening or so and see if the results are...

Re: Heated Tube: Transition from Auto to Manual Settings

Last night I set to manual and set my humidity setting to 3 and my tube temperature to 72F. I got the typical "popping" noises from my tube due to excess water and my mask cushion had more condensation on the inside than normal (when having my setting set to "Auto"). So given that information, what...

Re: Heated Tube: Transition from Auto to Manual Settings

Thanks for the further guidance and tips. I'll report back after I have had time to experiment (and have something to report back)!

Happy new year!

Re: Heated Tube: Transition from Auto to Manual Settings

Thanks @Pugsy This was more guidance than I expected, so I am pleased to at least have a starting point. Is there any guidance on a temperature setting relative to the room temperature? In the wintertime, I try to keep my home at a very consistent 66F. Of course, having the thermostat set at 66F onl...

Heated Tube: Transition from Auto to Manual Settings

I have been using my heated tube on my AirSense 11 on the auto setting for a few months now, but I think it is set "too humid/wet". I was tempted to move from the "Auto" setting to Manual, but I am not even sure where to start because I don't know what the baseline setting is for Auto so that I can ...

Re: First 2 Weeks on APAP

My wife Barbara has just completed her first 2 Weeks on PAP therapy. She has had only 3 days with AHI above 1.0, 1.42 was her worst score. She does complain about why it was so bad. She keeps asking me why everyone says it is so difficult to get used to PAP. I am curious what the typical amount DME...

Swallowing Saliva with CPAP Plugs My Ears

When I swallow with my CPAP on (and it doesn't seem to matter which style mask I am using), my ears get plugged/blocked like when you get when you are on a plane that is decending. I have found that it is best for me to remove the hose from the mask, or slightly lift the cushion off my face momentar...

My Experiences with Different Masks After 1 Year

Hi Everyone, I've been on my Resmed AirSense 11 for almost exactly one year and thought I would share my experience so far (mostly as it relates to the various masks I have worn). First, let me say that even after one year, my body has not fully accepted sleeping with my CPAP. I still average around...

Re: Crackling sounds

I also started to experience what I have characterized as "popping" noises. Started in the wintertime when my bedroom started to get colder at night. I ended up ordering a heated tube, and with my Resmed S11 set to "Auto" climate, it's been fine every since... YMMV... My guess is that I'll switch ba...

Re: Distilled vs. tap water

I have moderate hard water in my location, so I like using distilled water in the CPAP just from a calcium build up perspective... Both where you can see it...as well as all of the internals that you can't see... I use tap water in my coffee/expresso super automatic machine and have to decalcify reg...

Re: CPAP machine filter: Necessary or just another revenue stream?

I haven't read all three pages of reply posts...so forgive if my post is redundant... I have been replacing mine every quarter... I only have had my CPAP for 6 months, so yes...that's twice... :) The old filter has almost zero debris, and I am sure that the filter did not need to be replaced... Just...

Re: Heated Tube Climate Control Adjustments

To the OP, when you increase humidity you typically have to make some change to hose temp. Pugsy is the pro with using high humidity, so listen to her. Now can we stop hijacking someone else's thread?? That's really kinda rude you know guys. The OP is a newbie here and probably doesn't understand o...
