Re: Leaks and machine capability/reliability
Similar situation. showed Oscar to doc, and he noted that 75% of my events occurred during big leak periods. I would go to sleep for 2 hours and only have 2 events while I was at minimal leak. During the next 3 hours with leaks between 35-65, I would have 40 events. Then during the final 3 hours at ...

Will I still be allowed to write here? @ Grannie, I almost always have to sleep on my side because my wife and I have a small bed, so we cant really sleep on our backs much. Even though I a...

New sleep study results
I go to the Dr for sleep study because my heart doctor wanted to find out if I had sleep apnea. Few weeks ago, my study was done with my mouth open (wife says so) I called the sleep center and they said I should have been asked if I breath with my mouth at night. They said that they would repeat (at...

Re: My Sleep Study Update
He most was apologizing and said I could have another sleep study and they would provide a thing (strap?) that would keep my mouth shut. He was very kind and said that they would not charge insurance for the second sleep study because it was their fault. Can you get the results from both studies wh...

My Sleep Study Update
Hello all, I share with you today my Pulmongy office called to schedule an office visit. While talking with the nurse I asked if it made any difference if I was breathing through my mouth, she said I should talk to the doctor, but would put me through to the nurse practitioner. So I spoke to the pra...

Re: Sleep study inaccurate
@ Miss E, Thank you, I was alarmed because others on this form keep saying if you don't use your Cpap you could die. You have relievd my fears. i started question with the idea that it was important to have accurate flow numbers. From what little I've been understanding is that the AHI is based on t...

Re: Sleep study inaccurate
@ Miss E, Thank you for conferring with the other experts on my behalf. I'm not understanding why air flow that is improperly measured would not make any difference. If it would make no difference, then why measure it at all? I called the doctors office today to see if they would give me any results...

Hello and thank youchunkyfrog wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 7:15 amIf your sleep test included a pulse odometer, I'd wager you picked it up
from Advanced Auto Parts.
Please say you didn't do that.
Auto correct does strange things. I typed oximeter but it was changed to odometer.
Thank you

Thank you
As I said, the apparatus was Resmed Apnea Airlink, which uses a nasal cannula, a pulse odometer, and two body belts.
Thank you for helping me understand.

Sleep study inaccurate
Hello. I just had a home sleep study with Resmed link Air apparatus. I have not gotten the results from my physician yet - so I don't know what was found. However reading this forum for the past couple of days has alerted me to a possible problem. My wife tells me that I sleep with my mouth open, so...
