Re: (Changed titled) Grease in CPAP saga, continued with Airsense 10
ruffling people's feathers I tend to give SecondwindCPAP the benefit of the doubt. But then I tend to give you the benefit of the doubt, too. Sorry about the problems and frustrations you are dealing with. I wish you the best. It turned out to not be the CPAP itself though it does have issues with ...

Re: (Changed titled) Grease in CPAP saga, continued with Airsense 10
I don't think I behaved in any way that demands an apology. Your behavior on the other hand continues to vex. You mostly just got mad whenever you couldn't immediately solve the mystery. If you felt offended by my reactions to your snarky passive aggression that's on you. Sorry you were stumped I gu...

Re: (Changed titled) Grease in CPAP saga, continued with Airsense 10
It was definitely gypsum We found two sources of it in the house Since getting the landlord to address them it gradually has gone away to the point where I am getting great sleep now, though I still have to be more conscious of cleaning. Not just the CPAP and accessories but the entire room. Daily e...

Re: Options for compensation re: used CPAP
I bought an Airsense 10 from Second Wind CPAP last year, and I am very convinced that they sent me a very old or somehow ruined water chamber. This wasn't happening at my previous place so I have to assume it's something about this house, maybe the wall paint or floor finish, or something weird abo...

Re: Options for compensation re: used CPAP
If you can manage it, try sleeping for a couple of nights somewhere other than your home. If you still feel crummy, try not using the humidifier, still sleeping someplace other than home. For that experiment, I’d recommend using a side panel in place of the humidifier unit, to take the chamber comp...

Re: Options for compensation re: used CPAP
The reason I blamed secondwind is I'm at my wit's end. It may not be their fault after all So when you publicly blame a party that could not have been responsible. That's OK, because after all you're at your wit's end. Why are you simping so hard for secondwind? What if it did turn out to be the ch...

Re: Options for compensation re: used CPAP
I believe normal scheduled replacement for the water chamber is 6 months. I tend to replace mine every 9-15 months if I notice any build up of anything in the chamber. I use RO water, seldom distilled. I have been following this rigorous replacement schedule for about 13 years. I vaguely recall act...

Re: Options for compensation re: used CPAP
Since posting here you've been convinced that the cause of ths waxy, greasy film has been your ResMed humidifier. Your filter. Your fingers. Your DreamStation. How can you blame Second Wind for this problem, when it was also occurring on your previous machine? Because! This situation has been so in...

Re: Options for compensation re: used CPAP
Thanks for the snarky victim-blaming - I appreciate that people remember my previous posts and have concluded that I'm either lying or doing something wrong. The reason I blamed secondwind is I'm at my wit's end. It may not be their fault after all - and by the way, they do have a 6-month to 1-year ...

Re: Dreamstation ultra-fine filters greasy?
I've been dealing with a multitude of CPAP issues in my current home including mysterious greasy gunk on my Dreamstation 1 and now my Airsense 10, which at least I found the origin of. I feel like I've been jinxed. Anyway the filters may have just felt greasy because my fingers weren't quite clean f...

(Changed titled) Grease in CPAP saga, continued with Airsense 10
I bought an Airsense 10 from Second Wind CPAP last year, and I am very convinced that they sent me a very old or somehow ruined water chamber. Long story short I have been dealing with CPAP-related issues in my current home for years now. I've attributed it to air quality, water quality, and inadequ...

Re: Dreamstation ultra-fine filters greasy?
I am not getting the filters wet. At least not with the Airsense 10. With the DS2 it's very easy to get water on the filter since the water chamber touches it. Last night was pretty good. I rinsed the mask with hot water. It seemed clean after drying. Immediately after starting the CPAP I noticed th...

Re: Dreamstation ultra-fine filters greasy?
I still haven't figured out what's going on. I'm using my Airsense 10 lately. It's like it follows me. It seems to be an ultra fine dust that mixes with moisture to create a kind of slime or grease. I feel around frequently. I can rub my fingers together after finding some, and create tiny little cl...

Dreamstation ultra-fine filters greasy?
I have a large supply of Snuggel brand and a few Philips brand and they are all greasy fresh out of the pack. Could someone examine a filter by pressing around it with their thumb and index finger and please tell me if theirs are the same. I am again trying to diagnose a problem with my original DS ...
