Do you have an online filter? Ik it's annoying but make sure you wash/ clean everything daily since your susceptible.( Including tubing at least 1x/wk!)

I've done this without any issue. But Might be a good idea to keep a spare elbow& tubing as backup just to keep your mind at ease

Hey Iif you want to just try different types out for yourself, i have a variety of both full face& nasal (complete kits & cushion replacements) new/ unused& super cheap. (I'm de-cluttering) Price Range for each cushion/complete kit w/ headgear between $8-15/each. 1 of everything would cost less than...

Do you have an in-line filter? If not, get one!! If you already have one, change it. Also, be sure to rinse your mask every am, esp while you have the ant problem. &,rinse the hose regularly- once a week or so. Ants arent just attracted to the water reservoir... they LoVe mucous. Of course itll still work. Just clean/dry thoroughly & put in a container or bag for protection. Store inside (like, not in your shed) out of direct sunlight. Itll be fine& wont get discolored if you store it correctly
