Re: Getting Used to Nasal Masks

Thanks everyone for the great advice! I tried the P10 and N20 and just cannot get them to work at this time even with my mouth taped and consciously keeping my tongue on the roof of my mouth.. after a little while I wake up with chipmunk cheeks and air trying to escape my mouth. . I guess I just nee...

Re: Getting Used to Nasal Masks

I wish I could share with people how I keep that back door closed because it would help a lot of people but it's a reflex action that I just acquired with time and experience. Here's how I explain it. Put your tongue on the roof of your mouth, on the ridge behind the front teeth. Now plug your nose...

Re: Please Help! Chipmunk cheeks waking me up despite taping mouth shut

I am having the same problem using the P10 and N20. Tried it the last few nights and just couldn't get that internal seal to hold and had to switch back to my F20. I also tapped my mouth each time. I started my CPAP journey 20 days ago using the AirFit F20 full face mask and quickly got used to it w...

Re: Getting Used to Nasal Masks

Thanks for the advice everyone! Pugsy, I have my EPR set to 3 fulltime and I will practice holding my tongue up and using the nasal pillows during the day. Zonker and Cyberdreamer I hear you with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".. I would like to give the nasal masks a fair shot though. Maybe I jus...

Re: Getting Used to Nasal Masks

If this is the case.... I am new to CPAP - been using it for 19 days now. My original mask is the F20 and I have had very good luck with it so far with minimal leaks, low AHI and I find it very easy to breath with it. ...Why switch???? Fair question. After listening to many YouTube videos from CPAP...

Re: Getting Used to Nasal Masks

I think I heard somewhere before that 85% of people can use nasal masks with no issue but that leaves 15% that don't have an easy time. It was natural for me so hard to say what could help other than keeping your tongue on the top of your mouth and back. I can't talk when it is on but I know there ...

Getting Used to Nasal Masks

Are there any tips to getting used to nasal masks? I tried the P10 last night for a while and just and could not do it after many attempts. I finally had to switch back to my F20. I found that I kept wanting to open my mouth ever so slightly even though I taped my mouth. As soon as my mouth opened j...

ResMed F30 AirFit Mask Fit

Im having a hell of a time getting a good mask fit with the F30. See SleepHQ data below. I have tried numerous adjustments. Seems like it leaks around my nose area ever so slightly and sometimes my chin area. I find myself waking up to readjust it often. Anyone have a similar issue with the F30? Any...

Re: SleepHQ Data Review

Not sure what to think about the frequent awakenings. Any ideas? Study sleep hygiene. Be disciplined about applying it. In our times, people who consistently practice good sleep hygiene are rare. It's difficult. used to wake up and urinate 4-6 times a night. Nocturia. Common side effect of untreate...

Re: SleepHQ Data Review

When you wake up and go pee do you do it because the bladder is uncomfortably full or just because of habit "I am awake might as well go pee" kind of thing? It may be a habit at this point but when I go, a lot comes out. So my bladder is definitely somewhat full. Male or female? Age? Male age 50 Do...

Re: SleepHQ Data Review

Thanks Pugsy. I have been using CPAP for 11 days. Not sure why, but I seem to toss and turn still. Not nearly as much as I used to but still do. I used to wake up and urinate 4-6 times a night. Now its down to 1-3. Seems to be slowly getting better. Not sure what to think about the frequent awakenin...

SleepHQ Data Review

Hello everyone. What a wealth of advise on this board! I started my therapy 11 days ago. Been slowly adjusting. When I raised my EPR to 3 my waveforms smoothed out considerably. I am using my median pressure (10) as my minimum and 15 as my maximum with an auto ramp starting at 7. Been trying to find...
