Re: I’ll settle the debate on AHI for UARS folks
Free CPAPs for everyone. But... Maybe make it an ASV cranked up high enough to hide my heartbeat and I'll think about it. I just need a couple Clif bars and a Gatorade (it's THAT weekend again!) In NC this weekend for a funeral. Be safe in the city and keep it tween the gutters, my friend.

Re: Agressive cat
Do whatever the cat says. The last person in this forum who had a serious run-in with a cat was never heard from again. Maybe eventually try explaining directly to the cat the full purpose behind CPAP and the necessary reason for mask venting, a sound that may sound to cat ears suspiciously like cat...

Re: Weight loss drug trial claiming to reduce Sleep Apnea. Hmmm?
I can't explain everything those drugs do. (Can anyone?) But I can describe what Ozempic and Mounjaro feel like, for me . They give me the sensation of clarifying the discussion between my so-called gut-brain and my motivation center. Before, when my body craved a particular food, the message I woul...

Re: Weight loss drug trial claiming to reduce Sleep Apnea. Hmmm?
If the placebo resulted in a "5.0% [reduction in AHI] from baseline," shouldn't they first try giving patients twenty times more placebo? Mounjaro IS saving lives. But all that may end soon if we can't find a way to make enough of the stuff to sell at a high enough price to bankrupt the entire healt...

Re: Sanity check
Sanity is not required for effective CPAP use; this forum is proof! But raising minimum well above 4 is almost always a good move, both for effectiveness and for comfort. Hyper-awareness is to be expected for a while. Eventually your subconscious brain figures out that the stuff on your face is help...

Re: How worried should we (Respironics users) be about the toxic foam issue ?
"The AASM [Americam Academy of Sleep Medicine] suggests that the medical provider prescribe for their patient a PAP device that is not affected by the recall. However, in the case that this is not an option, or another device is unavailable, then it is the AASM viewpoint that clinical factors such ...

Re: Can a CPAP machine truly revolutionize life?
CPAP saved my life. But I'm happiest about how my being on CPAP has made life better for my wife and for everyone else around me.
I wonder how many of my relatives might still be alive if CPAP had been available to them back in those days.
