won't be MY fault when
Everyone who wants this thread back on topic, please raise your scrub brush.

Because it sure would be a crying shame if this uniquely informative and original thread were to become somehow locked inadvertently.

the dancing flamethrowers is the name of my new grunge band.
My retro-tiktok-elevator-music band, The SoCleans, will be glad to be your opening act.

Unless, of course, you want my country-karaoke band, Distilled Waters. (They've been struggling in a saturated market.)

Re: The only (HEALTHY) way to sanitize your PAP gear

Every time I heard a ring-around-the-collar commercial as a kid, I heard my mother mutter, "or you could just keep your neck clean instead." I cleaned a hose once. I think. But I've seen enough threads on cleaning opinions and quotes that I don't mind one bit anymore if some people wanna try using m...

Re: Can sleep apnea manifest itself mainly via cognitive symptoms and without fatigue ?

intrepid posters who help people out! As much as I liked the answers, I most of all liked the wording of the post of the original poster in this thread. Very well asked and on point. The question alone of this thread is likely to help many who have wondered much the same thing. Well done for people...

Re: Can sleep apnea manifest itself mainly via cognitive symptoms and without fatigue ?

feeling stupid, irritable, and gloomy So now I'm wondering whether my own OSA is as well-treated as I thought. Can sleep apnea manifest itself mainly . . . I tend to answer "yes" no matter what follows those words. Bad sleep and bad breathing can make just about anything worse. I thought I should p...

Re: Is an AHI of 2 a more realistic target to actually get rest

It has been said (well, by me, anyway) that the idea of AHI trending data from home machines is to get the numbers as low as possible, but no lower. You try one tweak at a time, only for a reason, and see if overall data for a few weeks gets better or worse or stays the same. If it gets better, grea...

Re: breathing problems

My OSA was very severe before treatment. After I started successful treatment with PAP and started to heal, I often had the sensation during the day that my breathing was off. In my case because I had data to see how successful my PAP therapy was, I considered that feeling to be an indication of suc...

Re: On resmed, AHI "0" last night, is that possible?

Rare for me, but happens occasionally. I think a PAP score of zero, much as in tennis, should be called "love," since it's the score we all love to see. Oddly enough, for some, though, low-score nights don't always result in feeling most refreshed in the morning. But we'll still take it and call it ...

Re: Does active usage of cpap lower resting heart rate?

For the moderate-to-severe, the primary effect/benefit relative to heart rate is that it won't increase at night with the panic-juice release that would otherwise be occurring with each obstruction. In the 40s at night is no cause for concern for the healthy. Or during the day, for that matter, unle...

Oh damn.

I'm curious again.

What scoring criteria was used in the home study?
Wait! Home studies actually have agreed-upon and variable criteria?

I'm even more out of date than I thought.

Basically one surgeon's assessment of other studies. His candor on the extent of the unknown and unknowable is what makes me appreciate it most.

Good thread. Thanks for it, my friend. And for putting up with me in it. 8)
