Newbie here

Hello. My name is Janine and I was just diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea. I just received my CPAP machine a couple days ago.
I am using a Respironics System One REMstar Auto A-Flex machine. I have only used it for 2 nights so far and my only issue is the condensation in the tube. I have the humidifier down to 1 and I think I might turn it off because of the condensation. I wake up in the middle of the night and there is water in the mask.
Anyone have any other suggestions aside from turning the humidifier off all together.

Have you got the machine on a table higher than your head? Water can't run uphill, so it's best to keep it lower if anything, and if it's humid where you live (either near water, or just climate-wise) you may likely not need the humidifier at all... it's not therapy in any case, just comfort, so you may only need it e.g. in winter when central heating dries everything out.

Look on the bottom of your blower unit for a digit model number....if it is 560....check on getting the optional heated hose available for the 60 series machine.
In the meantime perhaps some sort of homemade hose cozy...socks with toes cut out slid over the hose will help.
There's no guarantee that turning off the humidifier entirely will fix the issue if the moisture in the mask is from your exhale breath and your nose might not like being dried out anyway.

My CPAP is just below the level of my bed. I am wondering if the AC is an issue. I looked at those hose sleeves and there is no way I can afford the cost. I will have to look into making my own I guess. I am going to turn the humidifier off tonight and see what happens. I am one that needs a cool room to sleep so turning the AC off won't work. Also in the winter I do have the heat turned down at night. Some people think I am crazy because I have the temps set for 65°F in the day and 60°F at night.
