Thank you Sludge!

I wanted to let you know I am scheduled for surgery to correct...you called it....ASD!!!

What upsets me is National Jewish found it the first day with an echo with contrast (saline bubbles). I had a TIA 4 years ago and apparently this can cause blood clots to the brain (have had a severe headache for the last 3 weeks- ever since I went to the ER and had a high D-dimer but nobody looked in my head!!). The cardio said my first cath (left) my pressures were 28 and they should have been 12 and when the pressures were elevated on the Right it should have been another clue.

On Tuesday they are repeating the right and left cath to make sure this hasn't gone untreated too long and actually caused PH. I don't understand why, as I was in shock when the doctor called me the same day I had the test to tell me the news, but something about if the pressures are too high they cannot correct the hole because those pressures could rupture the repair. Is that correct?

Anyway I wanted to update you. My husband wanted to thank you. My kids want to hug you and so do I. You provide so much wonderful information to people like me. Take so much time to explain things our doctors don't even bother to explain.

Thank you so much for all the time you take on this forum. Those who read this please take a moment to let Sludge know how much you appreciate all his help. He has given us so much of his time and doesn't ask for anything in return.

I've heard that Sludge has helped many people on this forum. Pretty wonderful. I hope he sleeps well tonight.

I can only imagine what the feeling must be like as the burden of not knowing is finally lifted and replaced with The Answer...

The idea of hugging Sludge just sounds messy to me.

But . . .

I admit that his hanging around here makes me more comfortable being here and that I have learned a lot from reading his posts on this and other forums.

Not only that, but he seems to be going waaaaay out of his way to be especially nice to people at this forum these days, and I truly, deeply respect that.

And he still manages to be highly entertaining.

So, thank you, Uncle Sludgey!

I love this part " best part is still to come as you start your New Life on Wednesday" and OMG I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to this happening! You really take your heart for granted until it starts acting up.

I wonder if I will need cpap therapy or oxygen after it's fixed? I am really hope not!!!

NO I cannot stand it. I am going bonkers waiting! I so bad want to be home with my family. It's killing me that we are apart for all this stuff.

Thanks again Sludge!
