One week into therapy.

Post by NoSleep4Nana » Tue Jan 21, 2014 7:30 am

I am one week into my therapy and got me the Amara full face mask yesterday and I really like it. Just need to adjust it a little more I think due to leaks. This is my numbers for the last 6 days.

CPAP Statistics as of Monday, January 20, 2014

I am guessing that I had 98% leaks last night. I will see what I get tomorrow after tweaking the mask tonight.

I think on that one night your leak rate was 98 or less for 95% of the night. Maybe you can look at the actual leak graph in Sleepyhead to see if you had a lot of leaking going on that one night. The other nights look fine (I'm guessing that 51 is acceptable leak rate for your prescribed pressure for that particular mask).

That's the Total leak number and the 95% number which means for 95% of the time the leak was at OR BELOW 98 L/min.
Leak line probably didn't look all that great. We like to stay below 80 to 90 L/min if at all possible.
Remember Total leak is the mask's expected vent rate plus any excess leaks.

But this tells us that the overall average wasn't that horrible. I suspect you probably had a couple of times where leaks were above 90 L/min for a while and while the 95% number looks ugly...I imagine that the bulk of the night your were most likely below 80 to 90 L/min leak. The 90/95% numbers sometimes make things look worse than they really are.
