Vent hole placement

I hate that the Swift FX blows the vent air out and down. I often want to leave my arms above the blankets, but it blasts them with cold air. So I have to mummify myself in the blankets, where I often get too hot.

Is there any pillow format that blows in an out and up direction...or any alternative to down on my arms?

I am no longer using a Swift FX, but when I was, I could keep the vent off of my arms when I used a hose hanger.

I wish I could say the same about the Nuance Pro I am now using...no matter how it swivels, it blows straight down on my arms!

Pyjamas work well to keep arms above covers warm.

My hose hanger helps most masks with exhaust control shortcomings.
The Wisp is designed to exhaust 90 degrees out from the face, no matter which way the hose is pointed.
If I sleep with head bowed. that is indeed where the cold air blows.
Long sleeves help, sometimes a plush throw blanket is the key.
The rest of the time, I burrow under the down duvet, with just my face poking out.

Optilife blows forward and up at about 45 degrees. Might check it out...

It looks as if the Swift FX has a swivel mask port at the mask interface.
Are you using a hose support system that routes the hose vertically and so rotates the vent to blow down?

If so, there appears to be enough mask tube to bend a 180 turn that wlli keep the vent direction up and out.
You may need to make some sort of connector to keep the tube bend parallel.

Edit: . Do you have the white diffuser installed in the vent?
FP makes two version of the vent swivel, one with the diffuser and one without.
If you have the non-diffuser version, it can be replaced with the other.

I'm not sure I can explain this... but I'll try. The bed pillow I use is latex (soft and mushy). I tuck the pillow down and under my neck; give it a good shove. By doing that I can push the vent up and away from my arms. Sometimes I have to do it two or three times before it works and I get comfortable.

The other suggestion is to wear pj's with long sleeves which I do anyway during the Winter months.

I am taping Fischer Paykel white disposable exhalation diffusers over all my exhale ports on all my masks that are not FP. I saw a pack of 10 of them for sale for a few dollars on one of the web sites and they are worth their weight in gold. I just cannot believe those are not provided on every mask. I cannot stand all that noise of wind blowing against the covers and cold breeze and neither can hubby. To be comfortable I am not messing up anything: First, if they work on FP masks and are safe, why not the others with the same pressure and same size vent holes? Second, the last one I split the diffuser in half horizontally and made it thinner. It is a little breezier than I like but OK, I was just experimenting with how thick I need. Third, I use medical tape and wrap it around the tube but be sure there is absolutely no tape covering a single hole in the vent of whatever mask I do this to. Without this, I would toss all my other masks but with it, my Wisp is bearable. I'd stick with the Eson these came with but the nasal mask is way to big for my face, sticks up into my eye sockets, and swells up my eyes all morning.
