CPAP $2500 or $650
I was talking to my current company about my CPAP. Needless to say they have me on this 10 month rental thing. Total cost $2500!
CPAP.com = $650
Question: My current company says that these online sites will not sell it to me for that price. CPAP.com says all I need to do if fax my prescrip to them. Any of you have dealing with online shopping. Can you buy your machine online from CPAP.com?

So far I have bought a box of stuff (hoses, filters etc) from CPAP.com and they were charged to my credit card at the price listed on the web site.
I can't really answer your question since I haven't ordered my Remstar Auto yet (using a used machine before I order new from CPAP.com) but I can't see why the machine wouldn't also arrive at the price on the web site.
How would your DME know that they won't sell it to you for that price? Have they ordered and not received a machine?

They don't deal with insurance and so they can afford to pass on "non-insurance red tape" prices. It is the real deal.

yep, your DME is raking in $250 per month on rental for your machine. That machine will cost about $3150-3300 when its all said and done.
Once you reach 10 months, you'll get a phone call from your insurance company asking if your still using your machine.... if you say yes and everything is fine, they will then purchase THAT machine and YOU are STUCK with it for the next 5 years. Recall back when you first got it, your doctor says "let's start off with a 3-month trial..." then all of a sudden it runs into a 10 month rental, then after the purchase its see ya for 5 years. Ever wonder why that DME guy is sitting in your doctor's office when you visit, or they are asking to play through on the golf course together.

For one thing, they are the parent company for this forum.
Many/most of us that use this forum have purchased from CPAP.COM.
Your DME is lying and over-charging you.
If you have your prescription, you can buy a machine from them. You don't need a prescription for anything else (masks, hoses, etc.)
They are THE BEST!

Den is right! I have been doing business with cpap.com for years! Yes they ARE the BEST not only in pricing but in customer service! Their sister sites "cpapfprseniors" & "billmyinsurance" also are GREAT! You will be dealing with Johnny, Claudia, Bianca and all the other great people there! Yes they are a for profit business and if they didn't make a profit this site would not be here to help us! I have no problem with a company making a fair profit especially when they put the customer FIRST as cpap.com does! Only wish all the other business entities we deal with had the class and customer service they provide! You will have a great experience dealing with them-PERIOD!

My DME wanted $3400 for a bipap pro machine I bought from cpap for $1569. I could have purchased two at their price with $$$ left over. I've had some problems but internet purchases save lots of $$$ usually. You can even search for the best prices which can sometimes be difficult going from store to store and trying to remember the prices. Naturally, your DME wants you to buy from them, look at the profits they are making!

This was kind of the philosophy I had when some of the local DMEs tried to ask me what I was going to do if I had problems. I said, for that kind of money, I can buy two and keep one for a spare/backup.

I purchased a Remstar-auto from CPAP.com for $710 and a BiPAP-auto for $1400 (approximately). The first Remstar-auto was found to be defective within the first 30 days and it was replaced with another new machine without argument.
Yes, the prices at CPAP.com are for real and the service is as good as it gets anywhere.

cpap purchase
To make a long story short my insurance wanted me to rent a cpap for 15 months. for the cost of rental of the machine and the purchase of a mask(I have a $1000 deductible on equiptment purchases)I found it cheaper to buy from cpap.com.I ordered a Remstar series m with heated humidity and a ultra mirage ff mask for a grand total of $671. I also saved on local taxes because I ordered on line. They(cpap.com did a great job) will also ship for free if you use regular ground shipping.I used overnite shipping I ordered on a Monday and received it on a Tuesday.I did have to fax them a copy of my prescription.
Well, I THOUGHT I was going to use cpap.com also, but yesterday I read a post from "Linda3032" Titled "Unpleasant experience with cpap.com".
She described her encounter with a rep. from cpap.com by the name of "Christopher" who was completely uncooperative and, as Linda described, was actually "Bullying" her on the phone .
You should read that particular thread. There are a few other who chimed in and said that their experience with cpap.com was far from good.
Now, I have also read many positive threads about them. And Linda "did" finally get what she needed after a supervisor was made aware of her needs. So that's a good thing.
But her post, along with the other comments has made me re-think my purchase of a machine from them.
I was actually going to order my machine this morning, but I am going to do a little more research now. I may, or may not, end up buying from cpap.com, and I will post my experience with my purchase.
Plus... no matter HOW bad cpap.com or any others may be, they will still be far, far better than my experience has been with Apria.

One bad experience, opposed to many great experiences.....
the basis of that customers problem was that they ordered a package deal and then needed it listed out like they ordered it seperatly so that her insurance would pay for it.
If you are playing with insurance, you need to be sure that you have the correct documentation for that.

WOW!! I hate that!! I did know any better I have had the machine for eight months. Racking up $1172 in charges! Now, to buy the machine I can do so for and extra $430, but I talked to the head Respitory Therapist he said he would knock that down since I wanted to pay cash.
I love my doctor. He is the best here in Chattanooga. He actually cares about his people. He was the one that told me about cpap.com, but I did not understand the full scope of the situation.
I appreciate the advise. Unfortunately, it looks like I have to buy thier machine, becasue regardless what I do I will be resonsible for at least $1,000, but if I decided to buy cpap.com it is going to cost me even more.
