I dont know what the answer to Western obesity is. I do know for a fact that I feel much better when I just get down to around 200 lbs. Just a 25 to 30 lb drop makes a huge difference in how I feel, look and interact with people offline. I have not been below 200 lbs on CPAP yet, but I very strongly suspect if I was on CPAP and was able to diet down to 190 and below, I have a sneaking suspicion I'd be just "about" normal acting and feeling...providing I did not change my blood pressure medication or my anti-depressant medication. Ive already learned that dieting, regular aerobic exercise and serious weight drop DOES make me feel like a different guy as long as, I say as long as...I continue using my APAP.

I will also say, with all the heavy exercising Ive done in my life, I believe I should be much thinner and weight less. Why today alone, I swam over a 1600 meter freestyle, nonstop except for my warmup and cool down. Ive always been a heavy exerciser...I dont know what gives.

I will say from having foreign graduate school roommates in my past who are from non Western countries that dont have the obesity problems the West has, us Westerners are regularly laughed at from the Eastern side of the globe. A former roommate I had from the middle east who has lived and traveled all over, including Europe and Canada, told me, "you just do not see all the fat people you see here in the USA over in Europe, the middle east, Asia or even in Canada."

Obesity...yes it is a major problem in the USA. But what to do about it?

All calories really are not the same. Some foods are metabolized differently than others. These videos are worth the watch.
