what do you mean? what have you been using before bipap? it took me about 15 min to get used to bipap since i had been using cpap/apap before that for a couple of months and bipap was So much more comfortable then cpap/apap. But i guess if i had started off with bipap, it wouldn't seem so good.

What problem are you having?

What bilevel machine do you have, and what's your pressure setting?

If you're coming from cpap, try starting with a small pressure difference and increasing it every 2-3 nights. If there's an overall pressure increase besides the bipap part, then start where you are and raise both pressures a little every couple of nights as well.

(That's how I did it)

Hey Ford,

What happened to the Trilogy? The last time we chatted, you were on the Trilogy pretty much 24/7.

It wasn't that long ago you asked about cpap vs bipap. I asked you in this thread about the Trilogy, but you never answered me.

Well here is what I recommend Image and it SAVED me......
CPAP Desensitization
Through desensitization you will become sufficiently "used" to the new sensory inputs from CPAP equipment that you can actually sleep.
Unassisted, this process may take weeks or months.Image

CPAP Irritations and Bad Smells
Without the Pur-Sleep System, your sense of smell may actually work against your therapy. Plastic CPAP components often emit minor levels of volatile organic compounds such as vinyl chloride (the "shower curtain" or "new car" smell), known chemosensory irritants even if you're not aware of their presence. This may cause discomfort and irritation especially for patients using newly-manufactured equipment.
The Pur-Sleep System substitutes pleasant scents for chemical odors, putting your nose to work for you, not against you.Image
THIS is a PLUG and I'm sure MANY other CPAPer's on here has used this with GOOD results....

I didn't have any problems going from CPAP to VPAP. I remember that in the beginning the pressure was too high, so I lowered it. I know we are all different and that our tolerance level is different, but I don't remember having a moment where I felt it was that much different from CPAP.

What is your pressure? Have you tried adjusting it?
