CPAP and Portable Power combo thoughts

Hey folks..

I been a cpap user for years.. We had the power go out the other night and my wife kicked me out of the bed and I had to snore on the couch.. Anyways.. we have another planned power outage so I'm looking into portable power supplies for my cpap and wanted to get your thoughts on possible runtime with this combo..

I know about the deep cycle batt options but I am specifically interested in this combo..

Respironics REMstar Plus 12v DC 3.0A Max. I run pressure at 15. no humidifier..

The jumpstarter has a 22 AH battery, divide that by the 3 amps that your machine draws at max and it will run your CPAP for 7,33 hours guaranteed at 20 cm/h2o. To find out what your machine effectivly uses at 15 cm/h20 you need an ampmeter. If you use *flex, that will save you power. I would not be supprised if you get 10-15 hours of constant use. I'm sure that you will not have any problem getting a full nights sleep with it.

I have a similar jumpstarter with a 19 AH battery, when I tested it with my Devilbiss IntelliPAP I slept for 7,5 hours and the battery was slightly below 60% when I woke up. I use APAP and my pressures is normally not too high.

If your REMstar is NOT the Philips Respironics version, do not plug your machine into the AC power unless you completely remove the humidifier. The WHOLE humidifier, not just the water tank.

If you plug into the DC, with the Respironics DC adapter, it should be fine, but the humidifier won't run.

After much research I opted to go with dual 6v deep cycle batteries wired in series.
