Sleep Data Help Please
Sleep Data Help Please
Got my new machine yesterday went and tried both PR auto and ResMed auto at the DME. I chose the S9 auto downloaded sleepy head will post the reports tonight.
But my initial reaction was 2.01 AHI with 16 obstructions and 1 hyponea. Could the obstructions be from leaks? At my PSG I had no obstructions. Unless I am reading wrong the categories apneas, obstructions, hypopnea.
Will post more data later tonight. Thanks everyone for your support.

Re: Sleep Data Help Please
Unless you are really feeling miserable, personally, I would give it at least a week or so to evaluate the data as to whether apap or straight cpap is best for you if that was your question. One or two night's data isn't really going to tell the tale.Js4tda wrote:Last nite higher AHI now at 3.01 should I go back to CPAP?

Re: Sleep Data Help Please
Your maximum pressure is too low, this makes the machine unable to stop all those obstructive apneas. I would try increasing the maximum pressure to 15, that will probably take care of most of your OA's.
Apart from that your doing great, no worrysome leaks.

Re: Sleep Data Help Please
I was on straight CPAP at 9 for the sleep study and zero events. Could this be from the hose moving around while sleeping? I have the machine at the foot of the bed and the hose gets moved around alot while I while sleeping.

Re: Sleep Data Help Please
I notice that most of the events are during the snore events which I thought was triggered by hose vibration. Or I may have read that wrong.

Re: Sleep Data Help Please
If the hose moving around was any problem it would have registered as leaks. Snoring causes vibration in the airflow in the hose that the machine registers, that is true. But I see no way that wiggeling the hose around can simulate snoring. If it could, not to the extent that you snore. Sleep study nights are also not normal average nights for most people, sleeping in a strange place hooked up to all sorts of equipment is not normal. So there is a good chance that what is registered there is not what you'll see when sleeping in the comfort of your own bed, where you can relax completely. Your graphs show clearly that events are happening because the machine is not able to increase the pressure to deal with them.
Your AHI is not too bad. You spent ~8 minutes in events devide that over the 25 events registered and you're average event duration is 0,32 minutes pr event. I dont think that would cause any harmful desaturations. I see heavier breathing than normal streight after most of the events so I do think it's enough to cause arousals and I think you should take action to see if you can get rid of at least some of the OA's. You can try upping your maximum pressure to 12, that might be all thats needed. But there is really no reason to not set it to 15, the machine will not go there if it's not needed and then you have a bit of a safetymargin for nights when you are a bit stuffy or have had a drink or two.

Re: Sleep Data Help Please
No, adjustments you make will not reset the data on your card. The new settings will be only be shown in the new data you record.Js4tda wrote:I will just changed the setting and have mask on right now. Will post new data tomorrow.
