Hi. Earlier this year I slept on the couch of a doctor friend and the next morning he said, "You should really get that apnea checked out." My sleep and restfulness seem related in part to allergies but the measures I've been using are somewhat crude (memory of dreaming, general feeling of fatigue).
I have a Remstar Auto DS510 and have only just begun to use it. This model has the Encore Smart Card and it looks like I need the Infineer/Mako DT3500: http://www.mako-tech.com/pands/reader_sol/dt3500.cfm. It's $54 at cpap-supply.com but out of stock. Does anyone know of a better source (or have one they'd like to sell)?
I'd also like to get a recording pulse oximeter. The CMS-50D+ seems to go for about $45 on ebay.
Are these what I need to get started taking some data? I have a lot of doctor friends who will write me prescriptions for anything apnea-related but I don't have insurance.
Many thanks to everyone who has posted their experiences and experiments over the years.
New to all this, data collection help please

I'm not the 'blower guru' on this site, but it looks to me like you may have ended up with a brick, or what we call a machine that doesn't really collect any data beyond compliance (maybe I'm wrong?). Consider this a 'bump' to get you back up in the postings, so others more qualified may weigh in. Good luck, you're asking the right questions!

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I researched machines here for awhile before purchase and was careful to buy a Remstar Pro (not Plus). I think it's basically the previous version of yours. The LCD shows AHI and leak data (after I accessed the secret setup menu). So I think I'm good on the machine but I do appreciate your comment.

The DS510 is the M Series APAP machine.
While it doesn't offer the same data as the new PR S1 APAPs...it is a full data machine.
It offers all that was gathered when the M series was top machine.
No clear airway, no wave form flow graphs and no RERAs. All the other stuff is the same.
Must use Encore software though.
SleepyHead won't work with the M Series machines.
