My pressure setting at the sleep study was 18cm-h20, the sleep doc wanted my apap to be set from 10 to 20, the 95 % pressure is 14.6 and max of 16.1. I wake up at night a couple of times and go back to sleep fine but was wondering if I should try the straight pressure of 18 or if the equipment is good enough to know what I need.

If this is just one night's data, I'd watch it a few more nights and then start tightening in on your range.

Good for you, and welcome. Sleep labs sometimes tend to add a centimeter or so (just to be safe).
They don't have to sleep with this stuff, you can make it work for you, not them.

The auto technology is pretty good, so i would leave it alone. You may be waking up for other reasons not related to the sleep therapy. You can always discuss your concerns with your doctor or respiratory therapist at the DME.

What is your AHI total as well as the event category breakdown?
As in central (clear airway) index, obstructive apnea and hyponea indexes?
If your AHI is less than 5...I would be letting the machine do its job if you are feeling decent and sleeping decent.
I sometimes need 18 cm (seen on my reports) but I sure wouldn't want to use it all night. If your machine is barely reaching 16 for part of the night I sure wouldn't be wanting to try 18 if it were me.
Now if your AHI is too high and you are having a lot of obstructive apneas or hyponeas...then maybe make some adjustments but I would consider talking to your doctor about the minimum pressure first if using APAP mode and if I was going to try CPAP mode I would start with something around the 95% number. I see no sense in using more pressure than is necessary and those higher pressures really make for leaks being much harder to control. Not to mention 18 cm is really like trying to breathe in a hurricane.

also apneas can depend on your sleep postion
you did not give enough information for people to even make an intelligent guess
