My first month - Usage Report

Post by StevenWinters » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:24 am

My Res Med displays the following about my first 28 days:

Days > 4 hrs.: 28/28

Avg. Usage: 7.5 hrs

Run Hrs. 232

I'm thinking that's a good start for a first month?

Hello there!

Well, that means you met compliance, having used the machine for a minimum of 4 hours for 28 total of 28 days. Total time the machine ran was 232 hours and the time you used the machine each night averaged 7.5 hours. Your usage is very good Keep up the good work!

What type of ResMed machine are you using? Do you have your own or are you using a loaner?

If you have a data capable machine (full efficacy, as in the AutoSet or Elite if you have the newer S9 series) you *could* also be seeing your numbers on average events per hour, leak rates, etc. We can't see that information to help you know whether the compliance you've done has been good or not so good for your benefit. Can you help us out by filling in on your profile what type of ResMed machine you are using?

Welcome and congrats on using it every night!

* * EDITED TO ADD: I see where you added your machine to your profile - thank you!

For compliance? Yes, that's a good start.

But two other important things must be factored into measuring a good start for a lifetime of therapy.

1) How do you feel relative to how you felt pre-CPAP? Sleeping as well as those compliance numbers might indicate? Feeling energetic during the whole day?

2) How do the efficacy and leak numbers look? Are the leak numbers decent enough to imply the data is trustworthy? Is the AHI down where it needs to be to keep the heart, the lungs, the brain and the rest of the body happy and healthy?
