Getting data from Resmed S8

Post by halu » Sat May 05, 2012 1:54 am

Can anyone please tell me how to connect to the rear of the S8 data card to obtain the information contained in the machine? I would probably need some kind of connector between machine and computer; there must be a way to be able too because when I used to take my machine to the Sleep Study People, they somehow were able to read the data from the machine. I have searched high and low on the Web to try and purchase whatever I need so that data can be read by me. Is there anybody out there??????????????? who can help me please.

You are asking about the S8, but your profile shows a S9...which is it?

If it is an S8 you just insert your data card into the slot on the back of the machine and your data will be written to the card, which you read on the computer using the Resmed card reader.

Thanks for replying, my present machine is the S9, and i have my original Brick S8 as a back up. The problem is that it does not have a removable SD card like the S9 but rather its a fixed connector that would require some kind of gizmo that would allow me to read the info using Sleepyhead. I have grown quite attached to viewing my nightly sleep performance, and it would be good to do the same with my back up old brick S8.

Go to this page and look at image number 6: http://completecpapservices.com.au/inde ... &Itemid=28

It shows the back of the S8 where the ResScan data card slides in. Does your S8 look like this? If you don't have a small slot then maybe it doesn't have a data module.

It's not an sd card, but a long skinny card with a gold chip on one side: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Resmed-S8-CPAP- ... _500wt_689

You need the ResScan card reader to go with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Resmed-ResScan- ... 2114wt_922

Thanks Randy, I didn't know there were so many versions of the S8, I should have stated the full description wich is S8 Lightweight II, which has no removable card.

halu,

Ok now I understand. It seems that the S8 Lightweight II offers compliance data only (hours of use): http://www.resmed.com/au/assets/documen ... nz_eng.pdf

It may be a non-US version of the S8 Escape II...

So it doesn't offer efficacy data but can be useful to have as a backup.
