Swapped from Quattro to Quattro fx

Post by Britishbulldog » Fri Mar 16, 2012 3:32 pm

Hi all,

I have been using the mirage quattro full face mask for over 5 years now always been pretty good with it ,recently i was given by my sleep clinic (im uk nhs patient) a mirage quattro fx .
I thought it was a amazing improvement but only only thing is now bugging me with this mask the escape air vent is right level with my eyes and its blowing into them all night long other than that its great.

Anybody else had or noticed this problem with quattro fx ???

Regards ,

British Bulldog.

I use this mask when i have a cold or get congested.
I never have an issue with the vents.
How soft is your pillow? I thinking maybe your head is sinking in too far and the air is rebounding off the pillow back into your eyes.

Can you explain to me how the Quattro FX is different from the Quattro? Doe it cushion any better? I end up with deeper and deeper "dents" in my cheeks and deep pressure lines (which look absolutely great) as my mask ages. As it does so, I have to tighten the headgear more and more. Do you have any similar problems?

It does not have the forehead support.

Yes, I had used the Mirage Quattro F/F, but bought a Quattro FX F/F because of the "good press" on the FX. I loved the mask, but I had the identical problem you indicated. It was blasting in my eyes and even with excessive tightening, I could not eliminate the leakage. So, the Quattro F/F with a pad-a-cheek liner has become the most effective mask for me. I get much better leakage control and with it considerably looser than the FX.
