OT: End of skiing for the year :(

Post by robysue » Tue Feb 28, 2012 2:36 pm

Alas on Sunday night I tore my MCL on my right knee while skiing. Not as much pain as you might expect, but the doc did say it needs four weeks of rest and ice, probably a knee brace, and some PT and a follow up in four weeks just to make sure its healing as expected. If it's not, then that's when we'll do the MRI and start talking about surgery. I've got the first PT appointment scheduled. Hubby is going to make some calls about the brace, which may or may not be covered by insurance according to my PCP.

At least the fall that resulted in the tear was on a sweet black diamond. And I had no trouble getting up and skiing down the rest of the hill without much pain. But boy did the knee stiffen up on the drive home.

Not a fun way to end the season. Hope it heals speedily.
