12 years on cpap and it's time to move on.
12 years on cpap and it's time to move on.
On 02/17/2012 I went under the knife for my sleep disorder.. trying http://www.inspiresleep.com. it has been 6 months of waiting and test after test after test but got the green light to have the implant put in. I'm a little sore but I know things can only get better. 12 years on cpap has come to a end ( I hope). Fingers crossed!
Re: 12 years on cpap and it's time to move on.
Corky, best of luck to you. Please keep us posted on the success, the whole process, of getting the implant calibrated. This is a topic of great interest and so far you are the only one I have read on the forum who got the implant.
Thanks for posting.

Looks to me like Corky is associated with inspiresleep and trying to sell the proceedure. He has only registered today and posting about another way to tackle sleep apnea. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck....its a duck.

Or it's a well-made, duck-like automaton. But I prefer the live ducks. They get tastier and tastier as Dead Duck Day approaches.nanwilson wrote:If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck....its a duck.

I would like to know what is meant by "test after test after test" before they would consider an implant device.

I'm not a salesman. I'm just a reg. Joe that has been flighting sleep for the passed 20 years and I'm only 40. I had this done in Charleston sc and I was told that was #5 on the list of 10 that will get it. I will let everyone know how this works out. Device will not be turned on for a month.. the dr's want to make sure I've healed well. 3 cuts about 3" long my right side seem to be healing well. But no I'm not a salesman.

Odd; I always thought test subjects were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
I was in a study; and they would give neither me or my doc any info.
I had to look it up years later online to see the results.

12 years and still in DeNile, that's got to be a record for backstroking. Jim

I was in a clinical trial for Actos diabetes med about 11 years ago. I don't recall any non-disclosure form at all. In fact I didn't know anything to disclose other than it was Actos or the med name pioglitazone. But it was a double blind study so neither my doc nor I knew if I was on the med or a placebo. Shortly after the study was concluded all participants were invited to a presentation where the results were discussed and we were told if we were on the med or the placebo.chunkyfrog wrote:Odd; I always thought test subjects were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Prior to that I was in a diet study. I got randomly selected to be in the control group so all I got were regular physicals including blood tests and some carotid artery cat scans. I received no diet advice whatever. In that test they withheld info about the lab results until the end. That's when I found out I crossed the threshold for diabetes diagnosis right at the end of the study.
So in both cases I was given information during the study to the extent it would not compromise the study. But I was given a full report when the study ended.
