I finally decided to get a chin strap. I tend to open my mouth and breathe when I experience obstructive episodes. Discovered that from looking at my SleepyHead Daily Graphs.
I decided on BreatheWear Halo Chin Strip. It has a halo of material that goes on the crown of your head. Then it has the chin strap with a hole for your chin that's covered with light, soft material to help keep it anchored on your chin. The chin strap has two long ends with velcro that go up and through cut slits in the halo piece. You adjust the tightness by folding the ends down through the halo back onto itself.
The real test will be if I keep it on tonight or if it bothers me so much that I can't sleep. Here's a picture of it.

I've been trying different chinstraps and so far I've concluded that they all seem to fit so much better on the heads of the dummies than they do on my head.

The Dummies doen't even mouthbreath, but if they did they would use a full face mask. Jim

Success. The chin strap didn't bother me at all. It is very comfortable and doesn't slip around. I have a very square jaw with not much of a chin. Yet it stayed put all night. My nightly Leak average went from 16 down to 6. More snores now and by looking at SleepyHead's Respiration Rate graph, I detect REM sleep with erractic breathing rates about 5-6 times during the night. And I had at least one dream last night. Just don't remember content.

I had no results with chinstraps until I was told to wear it over my mask. What a difference, I can sleep now.

Definitely chin strap over mask! Big improvement. I use a chinstrap that is elastic that I have just snug but I could open my mouth if I really tried. Good luck with your chin strap!
