FFM

Post by apneawho » Wed Aug 17, 2011 8:26 am

I am happily using the Swift FX for her nasal pillow in XS, but I want to have a FFM as backup in case of cold or nasal congestion. I called my RT at the DME company and he gave me the song and dance about not being eligible for one from insurance til 6 months. He also said he would stay off CPAP with a cold anyway. Is that good practice?
I just started CPAP and got my headgear and nasal pillow July 20. What is the best way to get fitted and get a mask for backup?
Also, I have been told I have a small face and small nose bridge. Can you recommend a FFM that is likely to fit better than another on me so I will have a starting place?

I asked my doc to RX a FF as a medical necessity, no problems with ins. Or you could buy out of pocket online, ins and DME not involved. I got a Quatro FX I like it except the small comes with med headgear which was to big for me, so you could buy the parts separately . Its comfy and I use it when I have a cold. I clean everything daily when I have a cold, twice a week normally. I find the warm humidifier air soothing when I have a cold, which is not often. I believe you can get mask return ins from CPAP.com. And templates and fitting guides to download. I think there is a mask trial program from sleep net. Good luck Kathy
Any landing you walk away from is a good one; if you don't break your airplane it's excellent.
