Resperonics True Blue Nasal Mask

Post by jauguston » Thu Jun 23, 2011 9:39 am

Has anyone here had a chance to pre-release test the mask that Cpap.com is now taking preorders for?

I got the e-mail about it from our hosts and thought that it looked interesting. I hope someone who has actually tried it responds to your question.

I had a chance to try the True Blue by Philips Respironics. I got a sample at the conference we attended in Minneapolis last week.
I only tried it for one night. My first reaction is that the sizing guide seems to be a bit on the small side. I was told that I was between a petite and a small. I chose a small to try and my nose wanted more room inside the mask all night long. I also never get nose bridge marks, but unfortunately I got a nice red mark that lasted most of the day, and I did have the straps as loose as I could make them without leaking.
It is suppose to be able to bend without losing the seal as you sleep. I think that part worked.

It is a pretty radical new design, and I applaud the designers for trying to address the issues that we all deal with. For my face it was not a good fit but your mileage may vary as they say.
I would love to hear what others experienced using this new mask.

Oh I should say also I put a forehead pad over the forehead part before I ever slept with it. I just knew I wanted that difference before I tried it.

I saw this email and was really interested. Your sizing issue has me a bit scared now. I wonder if they will send out a sizing guide before you buy to insure proper fit.

It reminds me of the ComfortGel Classic and ComfortGel Blue

Karen,

Do you plan to have pads for it? I am going to order one. I am using a swift FX with your pads now. Been on CPAP for 4 months. want to try something different to compare the FX to. They say about July 15 arrival for sale.

Jim,

If the need is there, we will make it more comfortable. Yes we will have some kind of pads for this particular interface.

Thanks for asking.
