Good bye and Good luck! I'm moving on.........
Well, I've read enough and I'm walking. I totally disagree with allowing Guests to have this much ability. They, or she, have ruined it and I no longer find I look forward to logging on. I left the other forums because I didn't find them comfortable or useful, they just didn't fit, and I logged on to this one every day and most days I learned something or was encouraged to continue even if I had a bad night. How someone who doesn't even have the balls to log on with a registered name can criticize another person for having an opinion or being helpful, is beyond me. I looked often at other's profiles to see who was making a suggestion or trying to help me, and never was I concerned about the degree to which they needed CPAP or if they were still on the therapy, I just wanted to know more about you. For me, it was and is important to have a feel for whom I am talking to, you know the human side of this stupid machine. Lori, you, and a few others who, by association, I feel have been attacked, have helped me a great deal and I want to you to know I appreciate it. Thanks to you, I just completed 48 nights and still feel better each day. I'm sorry you have to deal with people like this. I have stripped my profile and I won't be back, but at least I had the courtesy to sign on as myself. Good luck to you all, and thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beam me up Scotty, I'm done down here.

I find your comment interesting:

I notice you give no information about yourself in your profile. So I guess you want to know more about the other posters but would rather they didn't know anything about you.
Interesting.......
Good luck. See ya'

Oh, Good Lord people! This is just a message board. Nothing else! It only exists in cyberspace and does not need to be taken so seriously!
It provides wonderful information. It provides a social link so people can associate with other people who get to sleep with hoses. It also provides all of us the ability to just CLICK PAST anything that doesn't suit our fancy!
I REGULARLY click past all KINDS of stuff. It is an OKAY thing to do! Currently I'm clicking past anything to do with the Respironics machines and software...I've got two new machines, neither one is that brand, and I'm not likely to acquire another machine soon. I'm clicking past personal comments that don't involve me. I'm clicking past Activa threads since I hate that mask and don't have anything positive to say, which is kinda goofy since apparently it is one of the most wonderful masks ever made.
That's a lot of posts that I click past on a daily basis and I STILL manage to find some new information, some encouragement, some humor, SOMETHING to take away from this forum every day.
Just calm the heck DOWN, for gosh sake. A single message board, even one about a medical condition, can provide a lot of different people with a lot of different things......so if something isn't for you, or you don't find it pleasant, just click, click, click it all away! YOU have ABSOLUTE CONTROL!
Geez loueez,
Jan in Colo.

Anonymous communications have an important place in our social discourse. The Supreme Court has ruled repeatedly that the right to anonymous free speech is protected by the First Amendment. A much-cited 1995 Supreme Court ruling reads, in part:
"Protections for anonymous speech are vital to democratic discourse. Allowing dissenters to shield their identities frees them to express critical, minority views . . . Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority. . . . It thus exemplifies the purpose behind the Bill of Rights, and of the First Amendment in particular: to protect unpopular individuals from retaliation . . . at the hand of an intolerant society."

Don't Buy Into It! If he wanted to leave, he would have just left. Now I am sure there are going to be a lot of people tempted to post:
"Please don't go"
This is called feeding the troll.
The forum is a safer place when the trolls leave because they are hungry. If you feed them, they take up residence, and usually no exterminator can rid a forum of trolls.
So do your civic duty and DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!

Jimmy,
You should not leave. I appreciate what you said, but you are a kind and respected member of this forum. Don't let others push you off.
I think you should just ignore what has gone on and continue to get what you can from the helpful people on the site. Jan is right, deep breath and ignore the posts you don't enjoy reading. There are lots of great other ones on here you will benefit from.
