I filled out your survey, but I will say the same thing here. I could not sleep with another 3 inches on the top of my head without scooting down enough that my feet would be hanging off the end of the bed. Even though I like the small size, I wouldn't want anything that makes noise that close to my head. Move it to the nightstand and it might work. That's just me. I think it's a great idea and I'm especially interested in how the humidification works.

Maybe you should market it as a "nap" machine. People could keep it by their recliner and slip it on for a quick nap.

I filled out the survey as well. I just don't like the concept of this machine at all. It may well be the cpap machine fo the future but I don't see anything, at the moment, that would entice me to use it.

I really hate to be negative. My dear old Grandma said if you can't say something nice, keep your mouth shut or I'll slap you.

However, since you asked . . .

Whatever possessed you to think there is any advantage to strapping a whirring vibrating blower to someone's head with the aim of promoting restful sleep? Look at the acceptance of belt-mounted vs. helmet mounted PAPRs (Powered Air-Purifying Respirators) in the industrial market. The helmet mounted units are all hated for the same reasons. They're heavy, they're bulky, they are noisy and they vibrate. And the people who say that are those working in dusty environments around noisy woodworking machinery. Not those who are trying to sleep. I have a belt-mounted 3m Air-Mate unit and the only problem I have is when I forget myself and fart.
But that's MY fault for knowingly doing something that's socially frowned upon, it's not the fault of the design.

Ok, so you have a CPAP machine that can be strapped to someone's head. It doesn't follow that, just because a thing CAN be done, it is therefore a good idea to do it. Seriously. Look at your design and ask yourself why is it that you think it is a good thing to strap a CPAP to the head of someone who is trying to sleep.

Ok, I'm through criticizing.

Now for some constructive input:

Give your product a chance to survive in the marketplace. Consider repackaging the unit as a quiet lightweight travel machine and place it on the end of a 6' hose. Even the quietest CPAPs out there will keep one awake if it's placed right next to their ears.

If this was April 1, I'm sure we'd all have a good laugh and say, "Good one!" But it alarms me that people are apparently putting up good money to try and market such a device.

My sympathies.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a joke! Then after much thought I realised that the setup is the only logical way to accomodate a wearable cpap.
And you are going to have an uphill battle to sell it to an experienced CPAP user.

Why not have Cpap.com use it in a product challenge so we can get real feedback from trusted forum members. If somebody we know says "It's not so bad" you'll be taken a lot more seriously.

Of course you do run the risk of them saying "OMG what were they thinking!"

Just be aware that this forum is dominated by skeptics and has a history of being a very tough group to sell a novel product to.

But we LOVE padacheeks.

But then, anything that gets you away from waking up with pantyliners stuck to your face is, by definition, a good product!

Here are my concerns about having something like that strapped to my head:

1. It seems like it would be heavy.
2. The skull bones CONDUCT SOUND, and so do many pillows. So if you claim it is "5 to7%" louder than a conventional CPAP to begin with, how much louder is it going to be against my head and my pillow????

Perhaps it could be strapped to the upper arm???

I'm not happy about the lack of at least basic efficacy data, I would find it hard to trust a device that I wasn't sure was at least keeping my AHI in a good range.

Finally, your survey only briefly touched on the price point. I think it is simply too expensive for a second machine used only occasionally for travel and power outages. At about 1/2 that price, it might be worth it for those reasons.

Well, I looked at it. I am little disappointed that you can only use nasal type mask. No nasal pillow mask. Being female I don't want to wake with bowl head from the headgear. Also have something extra on top of my head while I am trying to sleep is not a good. I think it would cause neck pain.

I think the idea is good...the execution is not. Its quite apparent that this was engineered by a man. I would be game to try it. But I doubt very serious that I would buy it. As for using it for travel and camping...no way. I prefer to use what I know works. Nothing worst that being on vacation..and getting a crappy nights sleep...then have to run all day and try to have fun.

Well, I don't know. I am a new cpap user going on my 22 day of use. If I was shown this and told I had to go to bed wearing this, I would never use one. Perhaps someone who has adjusted to it might like it, but really...I don't see it happening.

1. It looks even more claustrophobic than just a mask.
2. It looks bulky
3. I think people might laugh at someone on an airplane using this, BUT, it is small and compact for a plane.
4. Not sure its a good idea to have electrical currents running so close to the brain all night long. Isnt there a study showing that its not good to have too much
exposure to electricity so close to the head?
5. It is NOT compatible with a nasal pillow

However, one can not say NO if they have not tried it. Hopefully people have tested it. Good luck, but I don't see myself ever buying one.

Topping out at 16cms H20 is also a bit of a downer!

All I can say is that it is a great improvement over the prototype:

I looked at it.

I'm claustrophobic. It scared the h-ll out of me, the idea of being imprisoned in a whirring, buzzing, vibrating THING.

Make it more like the old Breathe-X -- and get me a Bipap ASV model.

Oh, and scrap the "compliance only" reporting. Absolutely useless for my purposes.

Other than that, small, light, no water, mobile power -- great ideas. I just think you should think out the implementation a bit further.

The concept is good--a lightweight, small, travel pap machine. I'm with the others on the noise and claustrophobia issues...but not being able to use nose pillows kills it beyond redemption.

Overall, my first reaction was that it was something from Dr. Seuss!

oh! look! I can strap it to my toe
and wave it too and fro

oh whee! I can strap it to my knee
it tickles--tee hee

But I have been mis-led...
I must strap it to my head!

Oh dear, I dread
the sounds goes thru my head

Oh me, oh my
my brains are going to fry.
