Cordless CPAP?

A friend of mine recently mentioned that he had heard of a "cordless" CPAP? He thought that it operated using rechargeable batteries.

Is anyone aware of such a product? It sounds like a terrific idea but I don't know how a battery pack might perform over 8 hours or so given the power draw of the CPAP. If anyone is aware of such a product, could you please let me know how I may go about purchasing one.

FYI - I am located in Sydney - Australia and I fly to Europe regularly (24 hours on 2 planes). Most aircraft (even in 1st Class) don't provide power points.

Any assistance on this matter will be gratefully received.

I"d ask the airline when you make your reservation if you could get a seat with a power point......... Other than that cpap.com sells a power pack for $249 . Weight is 8 lbs. Possibly airline approved.
You might try one of those car jump starters . Do a google search : Xantrex xpower powerpack 300 or xantrex xpower powerpack 400 plus. Good for a night or 2. Weight is 20 lbs. These work well with a cpap that will run on 12V.

It's a machine called the Aura and it has an optional onboard rechargable battery that will power the machine overnight. Looks very small... good fro traveling.

Looks nice however its not fda approved yet ...Wish it was an auto.

Thanks to both "Chrisp" & "Wading thru the muck!" for your very helpful advice. The Aura unit that "wading thru the muck!" suggested sounds ideal for my needs and I have already sent them an email to chase it down.
