Beer? Edit...
I know this guy who went to a friend's and accidentally drank a beer too many. Will tonight be horrible on the machine? Should this person I know be concerned about anything (besides the obvious wit alcohol)?

I would be interested in your "friend's" observations.
Your info shows that you have an auto machine, and that's likely a good thing (because your upper resp passages will be more relaxed, and you could need a higher than typical pressure.)
I find that if I have an occasional whiff of the grape, my AHI is about the same, or lower (probably because I would not get much deep sleep).

Aside from throwing up inside your mask you should be fine.

Yeah, ONE beer too many isn't the problem!
I don't have issues if I end up having one or five too many beers, my problem often comes from the reflux that results, which DOES wreck my sleep. (I don't know what happens when you have ten or twenty too many beers though. )

Actually, you do. Tossing too many of them things down destroys sleep architecture and can suppress REM.rdfry wrote:you probably don't have to worry about sleeping anymore.

Are there Cliff's Notes for that article?
Re: Beer? Edit...
Actually I found that after getting on cpap I experienced almost a youthful rebirth as far as drinking goes as all of a sudden my hangovers were waaaaaaay more mild than they had been before cpap, even less than people not on cpap. I suppose because drinking can make people have apneas who normally do not.

Re: Beer? Edit...
I can see it now,, Big topic in an AA meeting,,, Beer and upchucking in your cpap mask. what none hose head would understand that????? But it would be a funny topic to talk about at a meeting. Or maybe some one talking about peeing in thier humidifyer or some other stupid thing while drunk like putting on the mask up side down or some silly thing like that. I for one don't drink beer or any alcohol for that matter, but get a kick out of the silly things people do while drinking. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay
