A true "full face mask"
I have been struggling like most with the full face mask rubbing my nose raw. I have tried a lot of different things as a barrier, but this week was my final draw. My nose hurts so bad. Last night as I was sitting in the lab I looked on my shelf at a mask that I have always thought was a God awful invention. It was made for people with Claustrophobia. Its the Respironics Fitlife. It truley covers the ENTIRE face. You look like an astronaut with it on. Well with my nose hurting so bad, I thought I would give this thing a try and give my nose a break. I have to say it was one of the most comfortable masks I have ever wore! The only time it leaked was when I rolled over and dislodged it on my pillow! Now the down fall was trying to itch my cheek...of course had to take it off to get the itch, but I was truley impressed. I can't imagine alot of people running to their DME for this mask as it is very large and again covers the entire face, but if your tired of your nose hurting all the time, this mask may be one to try. Just thought I;d share my experiance with a different style mask. It truly does work for the claustrophobia person, as I've had 2 come through the lab now and love it. Anyone else use the Fitlife mask and like or dislike it?

I had to google it. Doesn't it hurt your eyes? Well, I suppose not if they are closed. I am having a duh moment, perhaps. It looks very interesting!

Its hard to explain but the mask has a slant in the middle so it blows the air away from the eyes. Thats why I thought this mask was stupid when we first got them. I actually left them in the box for a long time! But it did not bother my eyes at all. In fact is was very comfortable not having any pressure on my face or nose!!!

Interesting. I've been on xPap for 6 weeks now..my first mask was the Quattro. I also suffered from the raw nosebridge and/or bruised forehead...the microdial lets you choose one for the other. So a couple of weeks ago i purchased a Hybrid mask and have been using that for the last week. For the first couple of nights on the Hybrid I woke in the morning feeling great and have had a spring in my step I haven't noticed in years but alas the last few nights my leaks have been very high, 95th percentile around 20....and last nite my AHI was 3.5 which is about 2 - 2.5 times my normal numbers....feel a bit drawn out today. Not giving up on the Hybrid yet but do need to find a way to control the leaking or I'll be off to another mask. I'm looking at the Opus and will consider mouth taping. If that solution fails me....i'll definitely consider the Fit-Life.

FitLife can be great IF it fits your face. The problem is that a lot of people have problems at the forehead with air just pouring out there. From looking around on this site it seems to fit men better than women. I have it, but I have to tighten the top straps down extremely tight (painfully tight!). I alternate it with the Hybrid.
