ResMed SoftGel problem

I have been using a ResMed SoftGel mask for a few weeks. I frequently wake up to a hissing leak, not between the mask and my skin, but where the cushion has separated from the frame. I then have to turn on the light, put on my glasses, take the mask apart, and push the flange on the cushion back under the frame. This is not good, so I have gone back to my trusty ResMed Ultra Mirage II, which works perfectly. I suspect that if I grab the mask to reposition it while semi-asleep, I might be pulling the cushion flange out of the frame. Anyone have a solution? Thanks.

I don't use the SoftGel mask, but I do use the Activa LT, which uses the same frame as the SoftGel. I assume that the cushion mounts onto the mask the same with both. There are two clips on the side and one on the bottom. These clips fit into the plastic part of the mask. You have to make sure they all "click" down into place.

My clips stay seated, fully clicked, but the cushion separates from the piece that has the clips.

I've never had that happen with the Activa LT cushion. Perhaps someone else will have a suggestion for you.

I haven't had that problem with mine although it looks like there should be a space between the cushion and the frame at the bottom. I will say that the cushion has definitely stretched out a bit.

There is something that is causing your separation, do you wash your cushion every night? do you grab the cushion to move the mask? I have the same mask and notice that my bottom clip is easy to release, plus the sleeve on the bottom is longer. Try washing before use.

Here is a thought. Have you checked the clips to make sure that the clips are positioned correctly in the cushion? The bottom clip is slightly different from the two side clips. I have made the mistake of positioning the bottom clip into a side clip position. This mistake caused an imperfect seating and a hissing sound.

It has been taken apart and washed. When I reassemble, I will be careful to put the different tab on the bottom. Thanks.

I'm done with that ResMed SoftGel mask. Even following all suggestions, I had another hissing incident. The bottom part of the cushion popped out of the thin plastic holder that has the tabs. The next night, I never even got to sleep with it. It developed a dang WHISTLE! Multi-tone, yet. I'm thought some moisture got into the exhaust holes just wrongly. Rinsed it and blew it out. No joy. No whistles for me. I think this is a bad mask.
I reverted to my old ResMed Ultra Mirage II and slept like a baby. Should have stayed with it in the first place. Works great. Anyway, thanks again to those who offered suggestions.
