Newbie questions SleepStyle 200

Post by obrosk » Mon May 24, 2010 2:49 pm

This is my first post here. I just started cpap on May 12th.

I was given a SleepStyle 200 and there is no way to get data from this machine. I would like to see my results every night but I'm not sure if I can get a better model through my insurance (I haven't asked yet). What data capable machine is worth the investment (if I had to buy one)?

Sleepstyle 244 or 254 will give you data, but they are problibly double the price of yours. Good idea if you can get your ins. co to agree. Otherwise, I have been very happy with my Sleepstyle 233. Its very quiet and there is no rainout.

If you want to see your nightly statistics, you'll need to get them to swap your current machine for a different one.
Do your homework.

Depending on how long you have had you F & P machine, your DME may swap it out for you... but you will have to be convincing/ forceful.
DME's will often provide users with entry level CPAP machines because they are the least expensive for them and profits are maximized.
There is nothing wrong with the operation of your machine and many people are quite happy w/o data capability.

But you will have to depend on how you feel and sleep studies to give you answers to how well you are doing...
IMHO... you want to understand how well your therapy is working and you need data.

F & P make some great machines as do some other manufacturers. Make your choice based on the features you need/want (and the price you can afford)

You have some reading ahead of you... there are many threads by people in your position who have gone back to their DME/ Insurance and changed equipment.
