Remed Datacard Where can I get one?

Post by Tiberious » Tue May 04, 2010 5:18 pm

I have a Resmed S8 Elite II and do not have a data card for the unit.

Can anyone tell me where I might find one online. I have searched but have been unsuccessful in finding a source.

Thanks

Point about getting a datacard for the standard S8 Elite (not the S8 II Elite) is that it serves no use.
It will record compliance which is the times you use the machine but does not as best as I recall, record detailed data. That came in the S8 II Elite.

Also the datavard reader is expensive.

Good luck

Sorry, I did not specify my equipment correctly. I have now updated my equipment list.

I actually have the Resmed S8 Elite II. This is the unit which you referenced in your reply.

I have been looking at the Card reader options and is appears I can a generic reader for approx $40.00 US.

Thanks for your help.

I tried a couple generic card readers that didn't work. You should try to find someone with a used ResMed card reader. Lots of ResMed users have upgraded to the S9 which uses a different card. It shouldn't be difficult to find someone with an unneeded S8 card reader.

I would definitely entertain that idea.

If anyone would have a Resmed Datacard and Resmed Datacard reader available please let me know.

Thanks

Resmed should have an agent (DME nearby ) that sells the data cards. I don't think they are very expensive (never had to buy one as they always came with the machines). Someone here (in in the US) must have an idea of the local price.

Good luck

I purchased My Resmed data card reader off the internet. Just google it. My machine came with a resmed data card so I could prove to my insurance company I was using the machine. I would call your DME, if you did not get a card with the machine, they should provide you with one.

Well, the S8 Autoscore (Rest Of The World model) does indeed support detailed data capture and transfer via a ResScan card, so I'd be very surprised if the S8 Elite (North American Model) wasn't just the same.

Cheers,

Bill

The ResScan Data card was supplied in a recess in a long, white, folded card, which had some instructions about sending it to a sleep clinician etc.

Its not immediately obvious what it is until you open up the card. You might want to have a careful look through the "paperwork" that (should have) come with the box of your S8 Elite II.

Cheers,

Bill

The S8 Autoscore did indeed gather data (I had one) you may well be right re the S8 Elite early model but from memory
the Elite didn't & neither did the Escape. I'll dig into my archives

Hmmmm ... on reflection the US S7 Spirit Elite models did always have data gathering - so yes it may
be that the old S8 Elite does & my memory is wrong

Thanks

Failing all else http://www.cpapaustralia.com.au

I recently got a new card for my S8II as the old one was worn out and I use the S8II for short trips. It was around $50AUD as I recall.

Thanks for the info. I took a long look through stack of paperwork and did indeed find the original datacard which i missed when setting up my unit.

Now i just need a card reader. I think I will order one through CPAP Australia, as they seem to be the only place which sell the reader online to non clinicians.

Thanks
